So this is basically for me to blog about and discuss my dissertation. Said dissertation is based around the siege of Thessaloniki in 1185, and the surrounding political context of Norman invasions of Greece and of the collapse of Byzantine central authority under Andronikos I.
I will ramble about details as I find them, do feel free to ask questions etc. :)

portugal your dissertation, do the worldbuilding thing again. Real history sucks, nowhere near enough dragons bro.

This has pirates and axe-wielding monks in. Objection overruled.

Found a chronicle today that had mentions of my stuff in! Downside, they guy writing it had so little idea what was going on that he didn't even know who the Emperor was at the time...
-
Does the chronicle mention the pirates or the monks?

Nah, it's mostly about all the crap that was happening over in Jerusalem, the whole war I'm writing about gets like a page. :-\
-
So I now have 1000/15000 words done. It's a start? :s
-
5000/15000, starting to speed up maybe...

Back to the grindstone, I'm very stressed and finding it tough to concentrate, but we'll see how it goes, another 300 words have been produced so far today.
