Post by: Lady Grey on December 11, 2014, 09:26:07 PM
A thread for tea enthusiasts!

Favourite teas, unusual teas, all things tea!

Current mood: Earl Grey :D

Pretty much Earl Grey. All day, e'ery day. Sometimes I go for fancy loose leaf stuff but mostly it's just ASDA's own brand Earl Grey.

portugaling love some earl grey. Some alpaca stole my loose leaf tea and my tea strainer (it was stored in the bag of tea) last year and I've been too disheartened to replace it yet. I should do though, portugaling love a really decent herbal tea.

Peppermint tea is also one of my favourites :)

Red alert, captain, we have a priority one, I repeat, priority one. Crew member has refused tea. This is not a drill! Red alert! Prepare airlock in case crew member needs to be ejected. And get me a camomile leaf tea infusion, it's our last hope of saving him!

I got a little man who happens to have silicon tea strainers for legs for christmas so I bought some loose leaf chai tea and a peppermint tea too. Worthwhile investments.

I think I've seen strainers like that, they're cute ^_^

Currently favouring Assam, which may or may not be because I drank Earl Grey during the hangover from Hell. :P

My stash at work currently consists of Assam, Lapsang souchong, and Darjeeling. They are currently performing admirably as part of my eat less rubbish at work campaign (astringent fluids are good as appetite suppressants).

Mmmm... Darjeeling - I need some!

I'm trying out some herbal detox teas at the moment - I think the 'day' one is mostly Oolong, and the 'night' one is senna and peppermint. They're really nice actually :)

I have a cold at the moment so life sucks and I hate everything. Everything apart from nice hot chai tea.

I'm probably a tea philistine, but I'm happy with a bog standard builders tea, milk no sugar, nice and strong. I've tried Earl Grey, not a huge fan of it, and some herbal teas, again not really my thing.

I alwso tend to go for builders' tea.

(Is it builder's or builders' tea? Does anyone know?)

But that's not conclusive D:

Wikipedia = builder's so it = builder's.

Also why not just drink coffee?

But surely it makes more sense for it to be builders' tea, because there are multiple builders who have the tea?

I'm pretty sure there's a law that states that builders in the UK are only allowed to drink excessively sugary tea and nothing else. Also I don't like coffee.

Coffee is best.

Hey I've been building recently and drinking tea without any sugar in it. Other than the sugar already in the milk. Did have some biscuits with my tea today though.

I cut sugar out of tea a while ago - though today I've had sugary tea as I'm really craving sweet things D:

I recently learned the mysteries of a thing known as a timtam suck, which you shall hopefully be relieved to hear is not a sexual practise. It's where one bites both ends off a timtam and then drinks their tea by sucking on the timtam. When you start to get tea coming through you swiftly devour timtam before it falls apart in your mug. It's pretty good, I imagine it's too easy to get through a shed load of them though. A timtam is like a penguin bar btw but a bit softer.

That sounds amazing :O

I love eating chocolate with Earl Grey tea - it just works.
