Damn it all!

So it downloads right, after days of watching a little stupid blue bar crawling along the bottom of the Steam window. I'm quite happy. My new computer is quite good. 1 tb hard drive, decent graphics card, quad core processor, the specs are pretty good. I'm looking forward to the experience I'm about to have. :P

Then, NO! It takes half a goddamn hour to load the new game and when it does it's lagging HORRIBLY. And it doesn't even look any good. The shadows are messed up, the lighting's godawful and, despite the fact it took me almost an hour to create a chracter in the creation screen, I finally get to start escaping whatever that town is at the beginning before I realise that fire is just a slightly bright ambience effect. No flames, just a sort of warm light. :(

I'm really, really disapointed.

So I'm going to buy an Alienware, but chances are the Gatehouse tech curse will strike again and it'll be armadillo too.

I hate computers. I'm also sticking with TW and M&B. New games can go die in a hole.

PS. Oh and my new computer can't run Oblivion without turning all the graphics as far down as possible. Of course once that's done, I get motion sickness far too easily and it looks like crap. And I get weird white lights shining out of several people's mouths. And the character's arrows turn white too. I'm so confused.

To top it all off, this new computer of mine won't pick up that Exilian has a shoutbox. For no reason at all as far as I can tell. :(

Hmm, PG have you tried reinstaling graphic drivers and directX(you cant reinstal it but you can dl it and run instalation to fix any issues.)
I used to have some mayor graphic issues with Oblivion while Skyrim ran smoothly on max graphics and fixing dirX solved the problem
edit:
which os and graphic card do you have?
Oh, and are you playing on a laptop?

Windows 7 64-bit OS
Dunno the graphics card I'm afraid. Suffice to say it shouldn't be having any problems.
And it's a desktop. A fairly expensive one at that. :( But don't worry about it mate, this sort of thing happens to me entirely FAR too much.

EDIT* AMD 760G. Which I tried updating but it says it's good to go.

that 760G is your problem, it's  integrated graphics, not realy meant to be used for gaming

Hmmm, I thought as much at first but the Skyrim specs said it would work alright. Still, I'm going to replace it eventually.

Just one random question.
Hammerfell or Shivering Isles?

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Shivering Isles are even better!

I was always imagining Hammerfell in sort of Prince of Persia style.
Also is there anyone interested in making a Hammerfell mod which would take place in the part of the province?

Civil war, thieves guild and half of the dark brotherhood questline left.

Having some problems with werewolf cure questline. I'll have to open up the console and set stages for the quest.
I've found a lot of quest related bugs lately, but game related bugs were really rare (one crash and a teleporting dragon).
I guess it's because they've put so much stuff in the game. Quest interference is almost unavoidable.

Unoficial patch from skyrim nexus fixes about 95% of quest related bugs. The latest oficial patch isn't that bad either.
