Avatars of War rumours
« on: January 23, 2014, 05:52:47 PM »
AoW is currently making Dark elves.

Even though their characters usually cost the same as most GW characters, their units are more detailed and cheaper.

So if they put a nice price on those Witch elves, they're definitely going to kick out some of GW's teeth.
And that probably won't be hard since GW's Witch elves cost a small fortune for a box of 10.

Aaand they're available for preorders...
35€ for a box of 30 (or 20 + character if you wish so)...

I wish I had an excuse to do miniatures stuff, but I really don't any more given how little I get to play (aka not at all)  :(
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

I don't play at all, either...
I just hoard and paint stuff for relaxation.

And about the AoW witch elves...
They're not as good as GW's... One of the gals has a real ostrich neck and their faces are not as detailed, but for that kind of price, they're a real deal. I think I'll eventually buy 20 and mix them with 10 of GW's models.

The traditional strategy is to use GW stuff for the front rank and fill out the back with cheaper stuff, I believe.  :P

What is it with people making banners that are big enough to act as a yacht sail?  :P

I believe that they're just showcasing those two banner options.

They're still pretty big banners though, especially for Dwarves. :P
Most effective elected official. Ever. (not counting Jubal)

He is Jubal the modder, Jubal the wayfarer, Jubal the admin. And he has come to me now, at the turning of the tide.

I like the general :) Not so much the others, Dwarfs are a bit too blocky and the face on the elf looks weird.

I really like the dwarves with banner top being the only exception. But that can easily be changed.

IMO they look much better than their GW counterparts.
