Warhammer 9th edition

Rumours come from Darnok (Warseer), who is usually known as a reliable source.

The news look dire, and if they're true I'm most likely abandoning the ship.

Yikes, that is quite a shake up. I don't see who they're trying to appeal to? Have I misread it or are they completely changing the lore and also releasing new models every month that are limited time only? But that sounds ridiculous tbh. The lore needed some retconning, sure but not deleting.

EDIT: Also, that's a sic profile pic SW :D

Honestly, I think GW have been removing all the bits of fluff I like since before I even started playing, and the trend apparently is continuing.  :(

We don't need no steeenkin' space muhrines!
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

Thanks Colossus.  ;D

Here's a longer explanation from Faeit.
Faeit is usually untrusted (for a good reason), but this guy seems to know what he's talking about...

Faction reduction to 6 alone is bullarmadillo. I'll stick with 8e probably, not that I've bought models in a long time but still play at weekends if I can.

What do y'all think the six factions will be?
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

Chaos, Space marines, Undead and the Elves for sure.

Not so sure about others.

I dunno, I was thinking maybe they'd just tie into the 40k version?

I think Orcs are far more likely to survive as a faction than Dwarfs, who may find themselves submerged in a "generic good guys" bundle faction thingy.

Not sure about Lizardmen, I guess they might just have been wholly wiped out by the Coming of the End Times?

I thought it was part of Lizardmen lore that they prophesice that they get destroyed by Chaos, and there was something in an old HE book about it as well? I can barely remember it was near 10 years ago.

And the Old ones abandon the ship in the End times, if what I heard is correct...
