Phew, it's been a while. ExiliCon and related really kept me busy.
On the plus side it helped me go through my older stock and have a bit of a clear out. I'm trying to determine what's getting a remaster and when. I don't really want to drop anything from my catalogue but some things will be unavailable for a while once the remaining stock is gone.

The current priority is the Truck Extension Kit. The last units of it are gone and the old moulds need to be replaced.

Here's the masters (without the wheels):

Mostly I'm actually quite happy with them. There's a few things I'm going to tweak or repair (the odd lost rivet here or there) but I hope to have them cast up in the next few days.

I'm excited because this was such a difficult kit to put together back in the day and it ended up costing a lot to boot (and so a high price on the store was required). These days I reckon I can probably do all the parts (except the wheels) in a single mould. That'll make casting it a breeze and allow the price to come down to much saner levels. It'll also be cast in a more well-behaved resin.

This behind-the-scenes look is really interesting!

I'm working on painting up the gobbos and priests right now since I'm finally clear of deadline painting projects, and I'll put up photos when I'm done.

So is the truck extension to go with a specific GW model? Have you ever had any plans to actually release a truck yourself?

For the moment it fits with Games Workshop's current Ork Trukk model but in the near future I plan on creating a separate sprue that will turn it into its own vehicle. I'm thinking it'll be a ramshackle version of the M35 2½-ton cargo truck.

Looks quite like the UMI Alpha truck from Caravaneer :)

One of the fun things about these kinds of trucks is that they're designed to be multi-purpose. By default mine will be configured for carrying troops but I intend on providing optional add-ons that create some other arrangements (e.g. anti-aircraft gun).

Not strictly relevant to casting, but here are a few of the grots done. I will try to take some better photos when I finish the lot.

(If this is not the right place, is there a place I should put them?)
