Alyeskan Gazetteer: Prospector's Reach
« on: October 14, 2015, 10:48:57 PM »
Another Gazetteer, this time the forsaken town of Prospector's Reach. Nestled on the edge of the cursed Chillwynd Marches, it is a mustering point for expeditions heading into the haunted frozen plains and frequently feel the chilly touch of the Marches' whispering winds.

You say both that the locals are isolationists, but that there's a big set of businesses catering to adventurers - does this mean there's something of a split between locals who mistrust the outsiders and locals who've done well out of cashing in on them?

Also, more prosaically, what kind of size town/population are you thinking this place is?

The businesses are really newcomers who saw an opportunity and took it, its the older lot who are the isolationists.

Probably a few hundred, though no more than 500 souls at any given time.

So "large village" as far as the modern world is concerned!

And yeah, that makes sense :)
