I'm doing alright - in the middle of a masters' degree now, no idea what I'm doing after that!

Apologies: I haven't been around much for a while, and I'm likely to be around even less for the next week or ten days. Once again I am busy walking around Cambridge, pushing leaflets through letterboxes for the Liberal Democrats. This time, of course, it's part of the Remain campaign for the UK's EU referendum.

The referendum is indeed horrible, in a large number of ways, and I'd much rather be spending my time on something better. But as it is happening, and I believe very strongly that it's important for the UK to stay in the EU, I'm doing what I can to achieve that result.

I will be away from the 4th of July to the 11th in the wilderness of northern Sweden. So expect nothing from me in advance

Gmd: have fun! How far north will you be - pine forest or tundra?

As for me, I am generally likely to be around about as much as I have been since February, i.e. somewhat less than I'd like to be. I am well aware of my responsibilities here as Sakellarios, and, should you choose to ratify my election, as Basileus, and I am certainly not running away, but real-world political activity looks very likely to be a substantial part of my leisure time from now on.

Crete is weird and amazing!

Their bbqs are portugaling fantastic, bbq octopus is one of the best things I've ever had. Thier beers are armadillo though. Fix and Alfa both terrible, best they serve regularly is heinekan... And that's an average beer at the very best.

Stray cats and dogs are everywhere.I thought it'd be bad but half the time its adorable.

They can't drive for armadillo. Literally yhr worst driving I've ever witnessed. Also there are no traffic laws apparently or c op s.

Weather has been a solid 9000 degrees. Great if you're into thy.

Maps rarely correspond with where the roads are. Mountains are beautiful, just fantastic, awe inspiring mofos. Every 20 metres os a taverna with the most friendly and wrlcomig hosts. The people here are so accompfating to tourists. The locals are very good at speaking English. Super friendly, super forgiving. Leading Greek is portugaling jhard, locals love it if you try even though their English is near perfect and they don't take the piss unlike Spain or France (personal experience only tbf).

You need a car to get around. The mountain passes are phenomenal, driving through them you het a real feel for the scale and the geography of Crete. Busses only gp from town to town which is bori in g. The big toens are like any in east Europe but with more graffiti. Tons of graffiti here. Also toilet paper goes in the bin... Not disastrous but weird and uncomfortable.

Ig someone could correct this that'd be amazing. My typing is so slow on the phone.
