Pyrrhic Victory 1.1
Pyrrhic Victory is a mini-mod for Rome - Total War that stemmed from creator comrade_general's desire to play as the small faction of Epirus. Work was quite easy on the mod; the competing Roman factions were eliminated - the Julii became the new Rome while the Brutii were used as a base for the new Epirus faction. The same unit roster as Macedonia was given to Epirus, which merely required a small recolor job. The mod was quickly released and garnered some attraction.
Soon suggestions were made by players of the game that the mod be expanded in some way, so comrade_general set about transforming the Egypt faction into a more accurate Ptolemaic faction. Elements of the Seleucid faction's units were used for the Ptolemies, while the auxiliary units would be comprised of the original Egyptian locals. All factions were made playable, the map was slightly tweaked, and other elements were utilised to enhance the gaming experience of players.
Pyrrhic Victory can actually trace its origins back to 2006 when comrade_general first toyed with the ideas of Epirus and the Ptolemies.
The mod is available as version 1.1
