Round One - Fire Bush Gulch
Old Jubal's donkey got found somewhere up in Fire Bush Gulch, they said. It's no land of milk and honey up there; it's hot, and the red dust blows in your eyes any time the wind gets up. Scrappy vegetation and boulders lie on either side of the single straggling path that winds up from El Exilca up and over the hills to Sawton somewhere on the other side. They say there's a decent sheriff in Sawton, but it's a damn long way to get there. And what you need is a lot damn closer.
That donkey, see, it carried everything that old man owned. Its saddle-bags had long since burst open by the time it was found, and if you want to know where two hundred fifty thousand dollars of silver is, you better believe that you're going to be searching every damn inch of this blasted gulch until you find the clues you need. But this isn't just an every bastard for themselves kind of game - some of those pieces of paper aren't going to make sense on their own. You might not trust those other gunslingers out to get their hands on that money, but you're going to need them alive and talking for now, sure enough...
When dawn breaks over El Exilica, you each roll out of bed, saddle your horses, and ride along the main street. Wide brimmed hats cover your eyes, guns hang by your sides, and that drunk ass of a sheriff this town has is starting on his first whiskey of the morning. As you pass through town, you hear the clatter of the saloon washing dishes, the crow of a rooster in some house by the wayside, the twang of a badly tuned guitar - and then the morning birdsong and the vulture's croak, as you head from dusty town to dusty trail.
You ride up and on into the dawn - and the game begins.
The round has begun. It will end as soon as I have been PMed valid orders by all three players.
