My entry, I'm doing more historical and folklore based poetry at the moment seemingly.
Will of the Wisp
Old William he carries a torch shining bright
As he walks through the mire here and there
His lamp boldly shines in the clear moonlight
But his path is not yours - so beware!
Old William he dances and waltzes all night
And lives with an elf-maiden fair
But he'll flee through the marsh if you should come in sight
And go where you cannot - so beware!
For Will's feet are fast
And his boots light as air
He can dance over mud
That would have you ensnared
So remember these words
And heed what I have said
If you try and catch him
Then soon you'll be dead
Old William the Wisp he steps quick and steps light
But his trackways are are not yours to share
So stay on the path now, and stick to it tight
And when you see his lamp - then beware!

So, I post my score? :whistling:
7/10. :)
-
I'm going to have to give that a 7/10, not your best work but really excellent nonetheless.
-
Here's my entry, one I've had lying about unfinished for some months.
Alchemy
I want to be a cliché.
The one everybody knows,
But has never seen to stray
Beyond the margin of the page.
I want to be the stereotypical
Stranger in the rain.
The one whose dark coat
Flaps about his leather feet
As if enchanted by odd charms.
Who wanders in the night
When none else would dare
But the insane and the uncalm.
The one who wanders free
Without a torch, or map,
Or track, or any guide.
No compass but himself,
But always comes to find
The place he had in mind.
The one who appears
At the old inn door,
Which creaks as if by cue.
Who draws all the sound
Towards him like iron filings
Towards a magnet,
And like some alchemist,
Turns them into golden silence.
I want to be that stranger
In the thunderous rain of night,
Who lurches to the innkeep,
Knowing madness in his eyes,
Places gold down on the table
And sees his face turn white.

Just one mark left to go, though it's looking conclusive so far. :P

Thus I get silver, and Andalus gives Exilian it's first gold of the games.
-
Fake gold. :P
-
Well done both of you, very close!
-
As was the other one. Good game. :P
-
Indeed, great work gents. :D
Is there a rep sort of function on this forum? I can't seem to find it...
-
Karma, there is the [applaud] and [smite] buttons, you'll see it bellow the peoples avatars.
-
Hmm can't see anything, probably because I am a new member.
-
You should be able to see how much karma people have, but only citizens can see applaud/smite.
-
Yeah, I can see.
Guess I'll have to go for citizenship then. ;)
-
Yeah, just get active and get a decent amount of posts (around 30-50), and then pm one of the active citizens.
(Khan/Jubal/comrade/othko/ladyhawk/phoenix/myself/quite a few more)
-
It's more quick if you post more in helpful sections such as comment in mods rather than post a lot in the Boozer. :P
-
I concur.

It's more quick if you post more in helpful sections such as comment in mods rather than post a lot in the Boozer. :P
But I have never played any of the games you guys produce mods for..;_;
-
Wait, I misread that. I thought you were saying something about discussing the karma thing in a more relevant place than the Atheniad area, which is what I concur about. I had just awoken at the time. :P
-
Well I'll see what I can do. ;)
EDIT: I can now see the [applaud] and [smite] buttons. :-\
-
Yes, I fixed it. ;)
Ok, from henceforth the discussion in this thread is either the Poetry Contest or nothing at all.
-
Now, lets talk about 'nothing at all', such a great mixture of words. :P Seriously though. There were some good ones in this.
