The title says it all, vote now!
I definitely am, been wanting this for a good few years now, and it's finally coming! :D
-
Not really... I'm looking forward to Rome2 and Medieval 3...
Woops, sorry SW, didn't mean to edit your post, meant to quote :S - Marcus
-
Hellll yes indeed. :D
-
Not really... I'm looking forward to Rome2 and Medieval 3...
Medieval has already had a remake, but I think Rome 2 will come after Shogun 2. The Total War series has gone as recent as it can in terms of history, so now it is doomed to endless remakes.
-
We still haven't had an Americas-based game, or a wider Asian game. So Inca TW or Mongol total war could be made without being too remake-ish.
-
We did... Americas campaign was part of Kingdoms expansion for MTW2...
-
Yea, but one could create a game totally based around the Americas in much more depth than that was, and without pesky invading Europeans messing everything up. :D
And the Mongol idea still stands.
-
There's not much information about life and politics in medieval Americas before the arrival of European conquistadors ...
About the Mongols... Yes it could be a standalone game based on Genghis Khans conquests (like Napoleon for example) and/or other parts of their history...
On the other hand it could be a good material for some kind of expansion...
And what about : Africa : Total War :D
-
How much information do we have on the African tribes before europeans started colonizing?
-
Almost nothing... I was just joking... That's why I've posted the smiley.
-
We know quite a bit about both actually. Less so than about Europe, but easily enough to make a decent game about the subject.
-
I'd love to play the Zulu hordes, admittedly. ;)
-
We don't know much actually... All we know about Aztecs is based on their architecture and codexes written by Aztecs converted to Christianity (Codex mendoza for example).
I'd love to play the Zulu hordes, admittedly. ;)
Bantus would be interesting too...
-
Yea, but even so things like the mendoza provide quite a bit of information.
-
But not about pre-conquistador era...
-
Nah.
Would be all like "FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCK YEAH!!" if it was R2:TW. But Shogun. Samurai.
Nah. Could test it one time. But will not be addictive.
-
Are you kidding? I was hooked on the original, and I'm seriously looking forward to this one. R2TW would have been nice, but not so great, since RTW is still going strong with mods and whatnot.
-
But. Better graphic in R2TW. S2TW, the. Samurais, loved them back in 7th grade, but still. Vikings beat them.
So Medieval 3 Total War will be horse raping!
-
I'll try the demo and see if it's interesting... The thing is that I don't like samurais...
Also I don't like 18th.-19th. century stuff at all and that's the main reason why I haven't played Napolen and Empire (not even demos)...
-
The thing is that I don't like samurais...
-
Fair enough, stay with M2. It's not all samurais though you know. :P
-
Amish - Total War
Tourist Invasion
but seriously im not much interested in Shogun 2 :ermm:
not so much cuz i dislike the era or location, but of other factors...
-
Such as?
-
SW; get it anyway and mod the damn thing then! :P
-
SW; get it anyway and mod the damn thing then! :P
I like that idea.
-
Yea, the promise of more in-depth characters will be great for fantasy mods. :D
-
Such as?
Well for one my ever obsoleting machine, which leads into a lack of funds for such pursuits. Plus I don't find myself playing many games for extended periods of time any more. :-/
-
So that's just games in general then, not just S2TW. :P
-
So that's just games in general then, not just S2TW. :P
You could say that I guess. I just don't feel compelled to get the "latest and greatest"
-
I'm not compelled to get it BECAUSE it's the latest and greatest, and I'll check some reviews first... I like the sound of a "back to basics" ethos with it though.
-
Yeah perhaps, because currently I'm not as my laptop is pathetic but I may be getting a new computer in the near future, so there is maybe hope that I can afford something to play this on.
-
I dunno what the graphics'll be like... I doubt they'll ramp the settings up much higher than any previous games, it would seem rather pointless to.
-
I really want ragdoll physics in this game, although it is unlikely, considering the scale of TW battles.
-
Yea, would KILL low-end systems.
-
Mine already dies on M2:TW lowest settings, so I hate to think what ragdoll physics would do to it...
Despite the fact it would increase system requirements somewhat it would indeed be awesome.
-
I am somewhat surprised that a serious thread about a game has got this much activity in a short time. Woo! :P
-
yes, because samurai-era japan is interesting and no, because I can't play it...
-
a lot has a space in
-
I have the same problem with many others: My wonderful laptop can`t deal with Empire or Napoleon, so how could it deal with STW2? But there are indeed great modding chanses in the game. As far as I see it, we have had no China in any TW. China has quite a colorful history, for example, the warring kingdoms. Also the mongols could be included... but unfortunately not the zulus
-
That's true... China was quite colorful, in fact it still is... There is some kind of mod for MTW2 which focuses on medieval Chinese cultures ...
-
My interest has been piqued, but my machine is way overdue for an upgrade. (even though it can run for a month without restart ;) )
-
After Napoleon came out i was really thinking and hoping that CA could make Rome 2 total war, or a third medieval since the second was great, though it was a small chance of that happening. Im not that excited about Shogun 2, but i will still watch games of it since my computer and many others wont be able to handle it.
-
A little bit.
-
I've never quite worked out why game designers are so graphics obsessed. Or rather I have - graphics are the saleability of a game - but it depresses me, because gameplay is what makes or breaks a game for being fun and that rarely seems to be accounted for.
-
With regards to the poll yeah maybe. Never played the first one but Samurai interest me. And in an environment where everyone watches Deadliest Warrior and frequently quote frankly **** sources regarding Samurai arms and armour I'm getting sick of defending them. So maybe a new Shogun might give me some new material and for that matter shut some of them up.
-
No not really. Never played STW, Medieval period isn't my favourite and I'm just not interested in Medieval Japan.
-
Dude medieval Shogun is awesome! B)
-
Lets put it this way, anyone thinking they'll be fielding massive armies of samurai are mistaken, the majority of your army will be peasants, just as it was anywhere else in the world.
Although, when you got to the point of training lots of kensai in the original STW, the game was pretty much over.
-
I know I am looking forward to it, I kind of skipped empire and napoleon since I didn't really like the period it was based in. But I'm glad this will bring me back to the series
-
I'm amazed by the score it got... 92%. I hope it's true
-
Hmm, I always take reviews from PCG, IGN etc with a pinch of salt, since they always over hype it somewhat. Still, I guess it's worth a mention on the front page.
-
I'm waiting my limited edition like the rising moon...
-
Let us set the mood...

They could have just used this soundtrack for the game and I would have been more than pleased.
Now go listen to the others!
