What do you (more) normal think about folk music? Do many of you actually listen to it ever?
This is sort of the area where bluegrass came around, with banjos and fiddles and whatnot. I never listen to it, but it does get played sometimes at festivals and the sort, but I never go to them. :P
American folk's quite interesting, because of course it's such a new thing really compared to English, Scots or Irish folk music.
Even though it originated directly from those. ;)
Listen to Brian Thomas, he is a good folk musician. he does folk music using jazz instruments some times. Its an interesting composition.

Oh, of course, but the sound is SO different.
Coope, Boyes and Simpson are brilliant - a trio, they do THE best vocal harmonisation. It's insane.
