I'm starting a Narnia mod.
Planned Factions;
Kingdom of Narnia
Telmarine Kingdom of Narnia
Kingdom of Telmar
Kingdom of Archenland
Calormene Empire
Harfang
Northern Marauders
Mountain Dwarfs
So far I've got some centaurs and Dwarfs done for Narnia, more to come!
Woah... This sounds interesting ! Keep us informed Jubal ...
And give us some screenshots if it's possible :D
This seems quite ambitious Jubal.
It wouldn't have anything to do with the new movie, would it?
This will be gold.
I hope so; I can confirm that comrade_general is going to be doing the mapping. :)
Brilliant! A mod with a map!
Huzzah
I've got talking dogs and a fair few Telmarine troops made as well.
Some peeks at the map should come soon also. :ninja:
Should I get a forum set up for this soon?
you can haz cheezburger, once you take a look at what i sent you ;)
I finally got the map loaded; any particular feedback you want on it?
Only if you need anything changed. How's it look?
It's good as a base, though clearly rivers, more mountain passes, etc, are important.
The only major change I'd suggest would be making the island groups all larger, the Lone Islands for example should have one settlement between them and are pretty tiny for that at present.
Well clearly rivers need added, just hadn't gotten that far yet.
Yeah, I know.
Troops wise Narnia and Telmar are doing fairly well, Narnia now has marshwiggles and four Dwarf troop types, Telmar I've added Crossbowmen and Swordsmen, there's a wasteland marauders faction which has wolves, the savage human wolfkin, and black dwarfs. Archenland have just two troop types but I'll be increasing that fairly soon.
We gots badgers! :D
Archenland fleshed out a bit with peasants, slingers and wardogs.
Marauders now have giants, Archenlanders have glaive-armed "retainers".
Here come the Calormenes! Medium cavalry, chariots, and swordsmen have now been added. :D
Sounds interesting. How bout some screens?
Finally, got the campaign map married up with the main mod; now I just need to make a load of regions at some point...
Wunderbar! (http://images.findicons.com/files/icons/360/emoticons/128/happy.png)
Archenland and Telmar ganging up on me (as Narnia). Only 3 factions on the map, they both hold all the best provinces. Full stack army spam coming my way. Hardest easy mode campaign EVER.
Four factions now on the map!
... I've only made 5 factions units-wise, and they're nothing like complete. I'm going to need some skinning done.
All current factions are now on the map, about 60% of the map is province'd up. :)
Curious to see how this will turn out!
Nice work, Hasdrubal!
Provinces complete.
Excellent!

Excellent! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKUOB8MN4Kc)
I may or may not have just gotten bored and made a war mammoth.
Indeed, the topic is open to intense speculation. :P
Freakin' massive skinning list headed your way. :P
Received. Hooray, something to do.
Two new factions should be fully ingame by the end of tomorrow. :)
You mentioned and showed this on one of the youtube videos, and it seems like a very cool project! :D
It's a pity it isn't using the BI engine. My RTW disc doesn't work any more, sadly, (which is one of the reasons I never finished the AUP).
It shouldn't be too hard to make it run on BI.
Something I could look into when the time comes...
Yeah, from what I recall, most of the work of migrating to the BI .exe is changing all the internal names.
A question that just occurred to me - will Aslan himself be included in the mod? Or will he only feature as a god and have special temple bonuses? The latter seems the more sensible answer (and if it's timed during the Telmarine period, it would be truer to canon).
And another thought - you could make the Stone Table as a wonder (if you aren't planning on doing so already). Same could be done with Cair Paravel - I know it's already a city but that doesn't stop you giving the province a wonder to make it special.
Currently just a temple. Regardless of other considerations, I have no lion model.
I'm thinking Stone Table a definite wonder, probably the ruined city at Harfang too and the tombs of Tashbaan, Munesh might be the sort of place to have hanging gardens methinks. Not sure about C.P, what I'd really like to do would be to make a special settlement plan but that would be quite the chore.
Telmar and Koraly fully done & dusted. :)
Good job :)
Screenies perhaps?
At some point in the next week I might do a preview on YT?
^ This. Please. When you can.
By that I totally mean now.
Keep it up Jubal. ;)

It wouldn't take near that much doing. In fact I suspect it could be run on BI.exe right now with little complication.
Zulus with zebras were recently spotted on my computer screen.
Erinese Confederation troops added.
Just Terebinthia and Munesh to go, then some campaign work, then I think a release might be in order. :)
This gets the comrade_general seal of approval.

Did those. Thought it was all over.
Realised then that I'd forgotten Harfang, who are the most work to implement in the first place. :(
Did I skin all the guys you needed?
Yarp, indeedy. :)
Giant King - meet one model with a hit strength usually reserved for artillery, thirty hit points, and a pretty cool helmet as well. ;D
ALL FACTIONS FULLY AVAILABLE IN CAMPAIGN MODE.
Like a boss. :P
Let's see it.
All factions' troops now have the correct names. Made a tentative start on buildings, which will probably remain fairly tentative until after release.
The campaign will have two sets of win conditions if all goes to plan, "Canon", and "Total War" - the former requires you to try and get as close to the books as possible, the latter is more freeplay in style.
So I would assume the canon campaign require you to conquer certain settlements, eradicate certain people etc.?
It's taking particular settlements mainly, yeah.
I've got the menu quotes done. :)
Canonical campaign win conditions done, at least for now. :)
w00t
We can haz screenshot(s)? :)
wow, it's a great job guys
Thankyou, and welcome to the Exilian! :)
yeah dude, the recognizing as human system reject me as human 2 times before I was able to register lol :D
Hm, perhaps we should simplify it somehow. It does keep the spambots out, though.
