I think those streets are coming straight from AoM, I am thinking it would be awesome to be able to construct roads for trade incomes when connected to town center, and giving movement bonuses.

Not quite straight from AoM, its a different texture but a similar style of just another terrain type. It looks kinda similar to a road texture I made once (which was based off some picture of tiles on the internet).

I wish I found an RTS, similar to AoM, where you can actually build roads. I think it would be one of the most awesome features to include, thinking that you actually use them for your advantage and like in real time.

Most likely C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age Of Mythology\textures\terrain .
And open terraintypes.xml and add
<subtype mapcolor="185 160 115">CityTileNew</subtype>
underneath the entry for CityTileA (use ctrl+f to find it).
then add it in the blendorder section in blends.txt near to CityTileA.
