Title: Deadliest Warrior
Post by: Phoenixguard09 on January 27, 2011, 03:04:37 AM
Hey everyone.

Wasn't sure whether this should be here or in the Conservatoire so I thought I'd err on the side of caution.

Anyone here watch this show?  Disagree with some of the results?

I watch this all the time, and yes, I have had some disagreements, but I can't remember what they are right now. That show is on in the summer. :P

I do remember a couple times they gave light artillery to some guys for hand-to-hand combat - wtf

Anyway... SPARTA!!!!

Yeah like the Scorpion for the Roman Centurion.  Actually that episode was one where I agreed with the oucome.  Romans didn't train for individual combat but were drilled in formation.  Rajputs on the other hand were from a society that valued personal prowess above pretty much all else.

But they really screwed up the Centurion's weapons.  A pilum, a gladius, a dolabra and a scorpion.  W.  T.  F.
I mean I would have personally preferred the first two with a hasta and well I'm not sure about the special weapon.  Maybe a spatha.

That show is just patently ridiculous, non-stop. Only ever good fun in the sense of ripping the **** out of it.

They did Pirate vs Knight and Ninja vs Spartan

Both utterly retarded.

Yeah they tend not to actually test the weapons fairly.  They just come up with a way to destroy crap, whether or not its actually a fair test.

The Pirate vs Knight was ridiculous in particular.  The pistol couldn't get through the plate harness and yet it still supposedly got a shedload of kills.

the videos they do at the end are usually the most stupid part, the pirate/knight in particular cuz the pirate threw sand in the knights' face then lifted up his visor and shot him - wtf

and another one, green beret/spetnaz maybe?, where the weapon that accumulated the least amount of kills in simulation (very little, like 1 or 2) was used to win the match in the video - wtf

Yeah I've heard that they're supposed to be the worst ones.  Apparently, while the Black Eggs were claimed to have crushed glass in them, the Ninja didn't use them.
