Title: Armageddon
Post by: Calisthenis of Green Day on February 16, 2011, 09:49:42 PM
I started making a game called Armageddon. It's basically Asteriods, but you're playing with a planet instead of spaceship. It's not fininshed, but I made the first and essential part of it; the map and the planet (from existing art).
I also added some asteroids to dodge.

v.0.0.1

I've created v0.x.1, which includes four medium sized asteroids for you to fight off.

Which I will upload when I get back to my computer.

looking good, if i may offer some advice: try and make the planet movement alittle smoother for example atm you can only move in one direction at a time, maybe make diagonal direction possible as well and maybe make the movement coast a bit at the end rather than halt abruptly.

I found it the same also how are you going to work the 'battle' system as it were. Will it become something like this?

@Private Clark
I will try and fix that.

@Doomchild
I haven't planned anything like that and for the moment I won't do that. There won't be any ships involved, just a planet. Maybe I'll have the planet firing some great laser they have.

Well, I tried the test, and you're mostly right, but I notice that when I first tried moving in a different direction while holding both buttons, it worked. However, after that the controls became very sketchy and sometimes unresponsive.

And you've just listed Bug No.1. You'll get a mention in the credits.
