Title: Terry Pratchett
Post by: Gen_Glory on September 24, 2008, 06:57:33 PM
for all of you that don't know Terry Pratchett is one of the graetest authors of all time
he created a world called the discworld, a disc shaped world seated upon the back of four gigantic elephants themselves standing on the crater riddled shell of the great galactic space turtle  A'Tuin
he has written many books with many famous characters:-
The Libarian
The Luggage
Sam Vimes
Death
The Nac Mac Feegle (Wee Free Men
to name but a few

the intention of this thread is to discuss the man and his books and recommend books for others to read :D

I read Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in six and a half hours...

The Discworld books are excellent! I have read quite a lot of them, and love them and Terry Pratchett's style. I'd say my favourite character is Death.

One thing  I love is his 'simplistic' style of writing, such as the way people speak being very matter of fact as in real life, and how he actually writes "Um" in their speech! He is a master of humour.
