for all of you that don't know Terry Pratchett is one of the graetest authors of all time
he created a world called the discworld, a disc shaped world seated upon the back of four gigantic elephants themselves standing on the crater riddled shell of the great galactic space turtle A'Tuin
he has written many books with many famous characters:-
The Libarian
The Luggage
Sam Vimes
Death
The Nac Mac Feegle (Wee Free Men
to name but a few
the intention of this thread is to discuss the man and his books and recommend books for others to read :D
He also done:
colour of magic
hogfather
jingo
and small gods
and i thought that i never knew these things...
I like his books, and the film was ok (Hogfather)
But I like colour of magic too, we had to study it for english and I ended up reading it.
You made reading it sound like a bad thing
It sorta was because I missed a few good things on T.V
poor you
Indeed :(
Has anyone else read his books?
haven't read but watched hogfather and colour of magic, they weren't bad

You read all of them in 2 months!?
errr yeah
no joke
wow...
it takes me a month to read lets say a harry potter size book.
meh i read first three in a weekend and god they are boring
3 books in one weekend... i acn just about manage one small book!
omg you lot are slow
cant help it
I read Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in six and a half hours...
The Discworld books are excellent! I have read quite a lot of them, and love them and Terry Pratchett's style. I'd say my favourite character is Death.
One thing I love is his 'simplistic' style of writing, such as the way people speak being very matter of fact as in real life, and how he actually writes "Um" in their speech! He is a master of humour.
lol I read the last harry potter in 13 hours, including dinner break
I have only read wee free men
and have no plans to read the others
I rather prefer Conn Iggulden
he is awesome, I have read the emperor series and am now on the conqueror series
I have read both, they are very good :P
