Question: Should Basic Politics (e.g. Voting Systems) be taught as part of the curriculum

I thought it would be a good idea, as it would educate people on political matters in the future, so if there was say, another voting referendum, the campaigns couldn't just use stupid long winded explanations saying that the system is complicated, as was done in the AV referendum.

This was part of the point of creating Citizenship as a subject. And yes, it should certainly be taught and taught well. Less crap about "what is a community" (we are!) and more actual information content is vital though, CZ has become a national joke.

It isn't taught (extensively) in Chile, although I know that I wouldn't want to go... I'd go for 1 or 2 mandatory years, and then optional for those searching for a more politically oriented job.
