A petition against Warner Brothers issuing a Cease and Desist to the Middle Earth Roleplaying Project mod. Thought I'd post this as we modders need to stick together to an extent over this stuff.

Surely a large number of signatures will just convince WB that they'll lose money because a lot of people will play this mod rather than their games?
Yeah, but WB does rely on those same people buying their products generally to make money, thus if more people are pissed off at them they're more likely to boycott their games.
Either way I think its unlikely to work, but I'll give it a go since they aren't going to give up on the cease and desist if its left alone.
I'm an Oblivion player. And a huge TES fan.
And MERP is one of the biggest mods out there.
But I'll have to agree with Pentagathus.
Huge companies are just too stubborn, and the Oblivion modder community is not big enough.
True, but I think it's worth showing our support for these causes generally.
"You are signer #15195"
I don't own a single TES, nor do I really like the concept (I loose patience in RPG's very fast, they're too individualistic :P ), but I'll always support modding. Long live User Created Content!
I played the early version of this mod on Oblivion, and it was looking incredible back then. *signs*
Has anyone kept up on this? Was the mod halted?
It think the progress was halted for Oblivion version.
It looks like they're working on Skyrim version, though.
No, they've spotted that too and they've started working on an original mod called Lays of Althas: Sundered Order.
Correction, it's not a mod, it's actually a game that they're working.
