The first ever Exilian convention happened on Saturday in Cambridge, UK! Thanks to everyone who came - it was a really fun day all round and we're very glad to have organised it. We'll be getting feedback over the next few days and weeks to look at what we can improve for future conventions. It's an exciting new departure for us and we were overwhelmed by the positivity and enthusiasm we found.

On a personal note, it was also great meeting some old friends who I'd never seen in realspace before (Comrade_General wins the dedication award for coming over from Ohio) and also making new friends among the convention-goers. Hopefully I managed not to send too many people to sleep with storytelling...

If you want to see more convention photos, head to our facebook  (https://www.facebook.com/ExilianOfficial/)or look at the thread here (http://www.exilian.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=3350).

Looking forward to many more events in future!

Thanks, all,

Jubal (Megadux)

ExiliCon Australia should definitely be a thing in future :)

When we have more Australians. As far as I can think there are only 5 people that have been active on some known level in Australia (Me, DN, LH, PG, Armadillo (Plus varies others (Icetank, Eaglebread, [name I can't remember], [my sister], [more names](Invited by me)) with less than 10 posts).

I think australia being as big as it is exilicon down under would only be feasible if you all lived in the same province (?)

Well, DD has a good point. But if there was one in Melbourne I'd probably be able to attend.

I'd definitely vote for a northern one and would do my best to come; I think it should be a different time of years to the southern one maybe? I can now give much advice on organisation etc :)

Son of The King in the North!

I would probably try to attend a northern one, but how far north are you northerners?

Just saying, autumn 2015 is out of the question if we're organising :P

This is a bad thing for me. Move further north. Much further north.

If cg can go to the UK surely us brits can at least go to the north? Even if it is Manchester. Also, try to make it a rainy day next time. I look properly badass (photo'd by a mate, was asked for a noir type thing) with a leather jacket lighting a cigarette in the rain with the right camera trickery. Plus it sets off the green in my eyes.

In Manchester we are near guaranteed to arrange it on a rainy day, so there is that. :P

Yeah, Manchester is very do-able :)

Could sometime early 2016 work? We could run Cambridge as the summer con and Manchester as the winter one.  :P

I would suggest that the date of a winter ExiliCon in Manchester should be chosen with some care.

First, it probably should be after the middle of February, to try to avoid problems with the weather (snow, storms, etc.).

Second, if (and it's quite a big if) you want the convention to be a "shop window" for Exilian, I think it needs to be before the end of university term time. Manchester has many thousands of students, which probably translates to at least some hundreds interested in the things Exilian does. There are probably RPG and other games societies that would be willing to advertise a convention to their members.

I would suggest doing it in early january so I can stop by on my way home after christmas :p

Would we be planning this as another convention or just a meetup of exilifolk?

Whatever it is, it needs to involve re-enacting Time Commanders :D .

Yeah, I was going to do that at ExiliCon Cambridge but we need advance planning to get a projector screen & projector set up.

To be honest, in our experience, you can't plan for the weather (look at MCM Manchester this year :P )

I was assuming another convention? Especially if there are students around :)
