Ohh this reminds me of a riddle:  (or 2) :

May hundreds of years ago there was a man travelling to far away lands, on his travels he came across a phynx, to pass it he needed to answer but a simple riddle: What has 4 legs in the morn, 2 in the day, 3 in the eve.

Whats is the answer?

Many thousands of years ago another traveller came across the same phynx, who knew all and everything. To pass the traveller had to ask but a simple question. One the phynx could not answer.

What is the question? Andalus go away! :P                                                       I know you know

the first is used in soo many things, it is really old, from Greek mythology to my knowledge.
(ooh wikipedia has it) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sphinx#The_Riddle_of_the_Sphinx)

for the second one I think the question is 'what don't you know/know of?' or something along those lines, because to answer would mean you do know it hence the answer you give would be wrong.

If I do know, I can't remember.

Incidentally, this is a Greek sphinx. It is a female winged mythological creature and asks a riddle  of passers-by.

This is an Egyptian sphinx. It is a genderless statue that is the guardian of the pyramids and doesn't care how many legs you have.

It works like this, you ask the time. But you cant say the true time because by the time you have said it, the time has changed.

Oh...

By that reasoning there are other questions that could be asked; the exact position of an electron, for example.

it was too, and anyway you could give the answer like the speaking clock, or the exact time at which they finished the question, there are lots of ways to get around your conundrum. Now Jubal has the right idea, Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle FTW
