Title: NEW BETA RELEASED
Post by: Jubal on January 18, 2009, 07:41:10 PM
This is a dark age, a bloody age, an age of Daemons and sorcery, of battle and death until the world's ending. These are the End Times.

This is ...

Warhammer; Total War, the mod that brings Games Workshop's fantasy universe to Rome; Total War, has released a new beta version! The beta is still custom battles only, but has a wider range of factions and unit choices than ever before. Also, as many people had trouble wth the old version we have a new installer to make getting to the battlefield even easier!

New troops are reliant on the avilaiability of new models... I do have plans for new units, but we're very restricted as the team lacks anyone who can make models.

I'll check the greenskin CTD, I think I forgot to stop the bugged arrer boyz being ingame.

WE spearmen will be fixed by next patch.

I forgot about the hellcannon, I'll see about getting that fixed. I was having a problem with fireballs...

Thanks for your feedback,

Jubal

:'(  I can't download it... Filefront keeps telling that the file is unavailable, and the second link just leads me to a page that asks me to register, but then no file appears.

ok i downloaded it without any problems but everytime i click on the shortcut it says "Problem with Shortcut. The drive or network connection that the shortcut 'Warhammer Total War.Ink' refers to is unavialable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, and then try again" and all it let me does is click an ok button which makes the message box dissappear.

Thanks for reuploading. My problem now is that every time I try the shortcut in my desktop, my computer seems to start loading the game, but in a moment it just returns to desktop as if nothing had happened. I looked at the destination route, but I could't work anything out of it, and I really don't want to touch anything without knwoing what I am doing. Please, if you could venture what may be the problem... I really look fordward to playing this.

Quote from: "Guest"are you using vista?
I'm using vista and I got it to work. One problem I had, but was able to fix, was I would try to redirect the shortcut but it kept telling me that the specified path was unavailable. Then I tried to just open the shortcut as it was. Then I noticed my Rome - TW directory was under Program Files\Creative Assembly. So I completely uninstalled Rome:Total War and all expansion packs, then reinstalled it under Program Files\Activision. Then updated it to v1.5 (Which is necessary. To get it go to totalwar.com then support then support-rome) Now copy and paste the WHTW folder into the Rome: Total War folder. Finally open the WHTW folder and just open the shortcut. Hope that helps some people.
