Title: Inability to rename shortcut
Post by: Arry on April 26, 2015, 11:34:38 PM
Hey guys,
after discovering this awesome mod and promptly downloading it, I am stuck at Step two of the Installation.
My shortcut looks like this
"C:\Program Files (x86)\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe"
and whereever I try to implement the -mod:WHTW it says that there is no existing path of that name.
I hope, someone can help me.
I guess its a very basic and stupid mistake.

Many thanks and greetings
Arry

Are you making sure to put the -mod:WHTW outside the closing quotation marks at the end?

"C:\Program Files (x86)\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -mod:WHTW

Is what it should look like. :)

Wow, you guys do indeed rock. That was a quick one.
Yes, I have done so.
The original problem is fixed- the game starts up as intended :)
However, it is just the normal rome game.
I have followed the instructions in the readme and put the whole folder into the rome data folder.
Guess, I made quite a simple mistake once again.
If one of you would be so kind to try and help me.
Thanks a lot in advance and greetings
Arry

If you've put it in the Rome data folder, it's one level too low.

The path to the new WHTW data folder should go
C:\Program Files (x86)\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\WHTW\Data
Not either of the following common errors:
C:\Program Files (x86)\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\Data\WHTW\Data
C:\Program Files (x86)\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\WHTW\WHTW\Data

Hope that helps :)

You, Sir, are amazing and deserve a medal.
All hail the wizard of the mods. :gandalfgrey: :gandalfgrey:

All joking aside, it works now and I have to thank you hundredfold.
Greetings
Arry
