State your Political Alignment and why you hold it...
For Americans, Tories are the Conservatives, equivalent to your Republicans, Labour are similar but slightly more like Democrats, Lib Dems are more libertarian and slightly more leftwing but not really by much, Greens and Communists are leftwing and UKIP is rightwing. BNP are racist authoriatarian Nazi-Worshippers.
I'm posting twice to separate this from the OP.
I'm a green (which was why I was so disparaging about the BNP). I belive equality is a good thing, and that in life it shoudln't matter who your dad/mum was and how much money he/she had whether you can be rich or poor. This is called fairness.
I also don't believe anybody is, at birth, better than anybody else, regardless of age, colour, religion ar whatever. That's not to say I don't think there are bad people in the world - I'm not naive - but discrimination breeds hatred, and hatred breeds war and terrorism, which is generally considered a bad thing.
That's my stand anyway, please give yours foks...
Shoot the portugaling hippi!
Where the **** is the monster raving loony party? Damn you and you're wooden bike jubal. Damn you to hell!
I'm going to hav 2 agree wiv pentagathus
WHERE THE **** IS THE MONSTER RAVING LOONEY PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's poltics, not who you would vote for.
I think that as much asall of us are in the core Looney vote, OMLRP does not represent an accurate position on the political scale.
i voted BNP just for a joke as jubal doesn't like them  but really i am a complete conservative.
how do people vote lib dems.
You get a little piece of paper and you put an X in a box. Really not too hard.
i do what most would do... vote lib dem cus the other 2 leading partys r absolute (male reproductive organs)
Pinn'd.
Politicis is fairly rediculous to generalise, being the only one of voting age I look at policies before voting, well I assume I will, if I have time
That's true, I'm going to revamp this with changes to the poll to be reflective of alignment not party.
hehe according to NationStates I am an inoffensive centralist
Shaidang (my nation) (http://www.nationstates.net/shaidang)
I don't remember/know where I got the name
At heart I am a supporter of Pure Communism, but the sad truth is that will never work, so I have consented to being a capitalist swine.
I used to be a labour supporter, but my support has waned, and I now swing more in the favour of the Lib Dems (As do many, I believe, they being a preferrable option to going over to the Cons).
The Borris Jhonson party. It will be a party, I will force him to start it at gunpiont if I must.
i would definetly vote for the Boris Johnson party because he is so stupid. The other day he thought ping pong came from Britain and was called Wiff Waff! Priceless!
But i voted for BNP because thats how i bug Jubal! Wait until next biology lesson and he will ahte me foreva!!!!!!!!!!MMMWWWAAAAHHHHAAAAA!
ahte is actually hate!
no you are an idiot goldy ping pong was called wiff waff and it is an english invention :P
I luaghed a lot at his speech. If he was primeinister we wouldn't have a crappy and unimaginative credit crunch we would have an economic bollok crack or something strange and more intresting. Go Boris go!
Actualy Borris is the anti politician, a normal politician hides his incompetance beneath a veneer of competence, Boris swims the other way. Take that you dead fish politicians. Evil little alpacas that you are.
that statement has lead me to create a new poll
AT LONG LAST!!!!!! (http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/asection/la-fg-shoe15-2008dec15,0,1823635.story)

and the shoes were size ten lol
Added the OMRLP. :)
Whenever I hear something about politics, I can't help myself not laughing. Ask anyone from my region, politics here are portugaling funny.
I ended up debating between Lib Dems and Greens. Ended up voting for Liberal Democrats... Because it seems they have a bigger chance of making it than the Greens as much as I hate to say it.
Incidentally, I voted Lib Dem in my local council election today, simply to avoid the probable alternative of the Tories. I also voted for AV, in an attempt to make it so my next vote need not be simply tactical...
Is there actually anyone here (from Britain at least) that was against AV today?
"Unusual goings-on in Bury. After three recounts, Labour and Conservative posted the same number of votes in the Ransbottom ward. The two candidates then drew straws, with the Labour candidate drawing the longest one to gain an extra vote and win the seat - giving them a majority on the council."
That was on the BBC live text thingy about the polls. Thought it twas awesome!
I'm from Bury! Living in Leeds atm but glad that Bury has gone Labour again (when the alternative is Tory anyway).
Yeah, the decision of equal votes by lot is one of our system's loveable quirks.
I'm certainly pro-AV; it looks like it's getting hammered though. 60:40 No:Yes just came in from Orkney & Shetland, a safe LD area. Not good at all. :(
As for the overall results, the Tories are looking strong; it's a worrying omen for the left looking towards the next GE. Labour has a hell of a lot of work to do in the East & South of England. (Round here, everything's Tory anyway, though I can pleasantly announce that labour have managed a 33% increase in their representation on the local council, from three to four councillors.)
The other worry is the SNP: If they can bite Labour's Glaswegian heartlands like that at the General Election, Labour will have a hell of a job getting any result better than a hung parliament. The new boundary changes will benefit the Conservatives as well, so a Conservative OM looks more likely after today's result.
Broxbourne, Stirling, Sunderland and Southend-on-Sea have all voted No to AV. The No vote in Broxbourne was an overwhelming 79.5%. - BBC
Looks like we're going to be stuck with FPTP for the foreseeable future if early indications mean anything.
