Not sure if many people here drive, but if you do, what do you drive?
What cars would you like to drive?
What cars do you absolutely loathe?
Discuss, and argue, and complain!
Primary: 1986 BMW 325e
Secondary: 1994 Toyota 4x4 Pickup
I like old school things.
Not as old school as me, I use "feet". And occasionally trains. :P
(I should really really learn to drive)
I use feet too, when I push on the pedals. :)

This is mine car.
I drive when required to do so. That pretty much comes down to moving house, borrowing a car when visiting my parents, and taking the wheel when out hawking.
I don't drive; I've never got closer to driving than lessons and a series of failed tests (this was before the theory test was introduced in the UK). Happily, I live somewhere where I can cope without a car.
Odd fact: in terms of different vehicles (rather number of occasions), I have driven more trains than cars.
I have no opinions on most individual types of car - they're all just boxes on wheels for me.
I hope to one day have an electric car. I can't be bothered with all this fuel tedium.
In Soviet Russia car drives you!
Isn't that Google? :P
I drive a 15-y/o gold/beige Hyundai Accent. It's the oldest old man car I have ever seen. But hey, it's cheap and reliable.
I really want to pass my motorbike test(s) though. That'd be awesome.
Motorbikes are great, really cost effective as well. I pay 1/8 of insurance as a mate who got his car when I had my first bike and it does 250 miles on £20 fuel.
I just really want cross-country train ticket prices to go down, I'm overspending quite concerningly by travelling too much at the moment, and that's with a railcard. And the service is crap considering; I often don't get anywhere to sit on the bloody trains.
I really like cars, which is why I recently got a good price on this (https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSgn1YjNfUGKRsGkiY2GSldpjahofbXmVK1T-lZ5tX5ANbMOyA9q7QlIQJp) (Mazda MX5 for those who don't know_
-I must admit, I didn't entirely pay for it myself - I was browsing around for a cheap little hatchback and I happened to see an MX5 for a really good price. I mentioned it to my dad, and we got into a conversation about how I used to always jokingly say we should get an MX5 instead of whatever car we were buying... anyway, long story short he paid half the price of my car... (it was hard to even get him to that point, he wanted to just buy me it)
But, I'm not complaining, but I'm definitely not accepting any more major gifts from him - he refuses to buy his own dream car, a Porsche 911, even after he's had a good job for 30 years and now retired.
Anyway, the moral of the story is that my dad is the best human being on the entire portugaling planet
Anyway, so I adore it, it's my dream car and people at uni have been pretty cool about it.
I love the car I learnt to drive in as well - one of these (https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSGpHb6qrmdEsgjGdTgxOWtPcWRDOSDl8cVaRdTTZJYRPK5CjwumwBthkOoTg)
(Golf GTI)
Pretty slick set of wheels ya got there, chief.
I'm still in amazement that I managed to get my dream not totally ridiculous car. I'd been saving up to get a car since I was 15, sure, but I was thinking a fiesta, not an mx5.
I was worried about people at uni campus vandalising or stealing it, but fortjnately that didn't happen. Brought me good luck as well. Last year a lovely girl came out of the blue and asked me about the car. Like, technical car nerd questions, and finally asked if she could take it for a test drive, she was looking into buying one.
Long story short, this lovely girl and I are now a couple.
:D
Are you sure she didn't take it for a spin and never come back and now you're alone and carless and living in some fantasy to protect yourself from the truth? :)
Hahah, I made sure I sat next to her.
At least I think I did. That may be part of this supposed fantasy world as well.
portugal it, if this is a fantasy world I'm happy with it, as long as I never wake up.
Unless the real world is the same as this supposed one, except everything is a little bit better.
If that is the case, well, damn.
A bog standard Golf mk4 1.9 SDi. Not the quickest, but decent on fuel and reliable. maybe when I get my millions I'll buy a fun car, until then I've got this, also an Iveco Daily Mk2 camper, which has just taken me round the coast of Scotland. :)
Guess who still can't drive? That's right, it's me!
That's good cuz less Jubals on the roads = safer roads.
I'm doing my bit for road safety :)
I can drive, but i sold my car last year as i didnt need it :P
Where are you living now?
Nottingham
Rotting Ham
Hm, lots of Diss people seem to have ended up in the midlands.
Some sort of Disspersion going on? :P
Ba dum tish.
My dad is looking into getting a ferrari.... I am way too excited for a car I may possibly see 2 or 3 times a year, that hasn't even been bought or organized to be bought, but.... armadillo my dad might be getting a Ferrari.
To be clear, he's looking at 90s f355s, not brand new million dollar 458s and California's. He seems to like these more than 911s, and he hasn't liked a car more than the 911 since he first saw one 60 or so years ago.
I may be a little bit excited.
I have absolutely no idea what a lot of that even meant :p
Understandable, I've been having a mini nerdgasm. My dad is looking into buying a sports car from a top class car maker, but an older 90s one, not brand new ones which I believe start at about 300000 pounds. This was a surprise to me as for a long time his favourite car has been another sports car from a top class car maker.
The 90's? Pshhhh my sports car is from the 80's. Okay it's not a Ferrari but I'm not even mad. :)

I can borrow my aunt's Corvette any time I want and it's also from the 80's. Still not Ferrari but not mad. ;D

Nah mate, you want a Fiat Seicento, it's a badman car!

So, an update. My dad passed on the Ferrari. He went for this instead.
Spoiler

Good alternative, I would say. He's looking into flux capacitors, but new ones are over $1000 AUD shipped here.
Did he seriously get a DeLorean? That is far cooler than a Ferrari.
Hell yes he did. About $35000 USD, which, as a random price comparison is the same price as a Mustang EcoBoost Premium convertible in the US. He was super lucky to get it, there was a person in his small town advertising it in their front yard. I haven't actually seen it in person yet, since he's 3 hours away.
I agree, much cooler than a Ferrari. He is actually only a recent fan of back to the future, he first saw it when I showed him the bluray collection.
Damn bruh. Now you just need to crank that sob up to 88 mph.
Another Golf for me, 1.9 Tdi this time, 130bhp, it's a fun little thing, and I think I may end up killing myself in it if I'm not careful...
I still can't drive :P
Wow Marcus, you might get that thing up to like 40mph. Be careful! :(
100mph down the back lanes, and our roads aren't exactly big.
I think you mean kph.
To be fair, if you wanted to bring your muscle car to our roads and drive it at the speeds you're used to, you'll soon be acquainted with a large tree many hundreds of years older than you.
Also heavier than you and unaccustomed to giving right of way :P
I think I'll stay here where it's awesome. :)
