New footage of 35 minutes of awesome gameplay for mount and blade 2 has appeared! And boy does it look good.
EDIT: thread title fixed, video link put in youtube tags
Ooh, pretty :D
Cheers for the edit i couldnt get the youtube tags working :(
E3 Gameplay is here! The siege weapons look amazing. I'm so hyped for this :D
Very cool, I wonder if you will be able to command groups to use specific siege weapons/entry points. A much needed overhaul fo sure.
that thumbnail is memeworthy
New gameplay from Gamescon is here: Lookin good
Looks pretty awesome.
Yay.
Looks excellent - appears to be a similar style and control system to M&B 1 but prettier (though the prettiness may damage the moddability of the thing of course).
Un-archived thread into the General Gaming forum
Cheers for the move. Yeah looks amazing. The prettiness is an issue for me...looks like I'm in the market for a new computer
I think my laptop should be able to handle it, though the fan is badly in need of cleaning already...
I could never get into Mount & Blade for whatever reason, but Bannerlord looks so good. I think I'll have to check it out.
I think M&B 2 is much the same, if in particular is was the aimlessness of it I think you might have the same problem with 2. If it was the controls, accuracy or more technical problems then 2 might be right for you :)
Do we know what (if anything) will differ about the controls? I liked the M&B1 controls generally.
Not changing anything, just making it tighter and more accurate. Basically with better animations it's supposed to feel more natural: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2016/04/28/mount-and-blade-2-bannerlord-interview/
Good with me - though tbh I didn't really feel much difference between Warband & Vanilla anims, it's just learning different timings really.
I can't even remember the difference it's been so long since I played vanilla (if I ever did, got them both at the same time) :P
I barely noticed the difference, but been ages since i played the first tbh.
IIRC the vanilla animations were more a single action, so the sword swing just went perfectly in line with the swing of the arm, whereas in WB you start getting a feel of the sword/hand having some separate momentum of their own. Also in vanilla, couched lance was way easier to use as it basically only had one aiming point.
If I want to get into Mount & Blade, where should I start? I keep thinking I should just wait for Bannerlord but that feels like it could be a seemingly infinite wait
I dunno, I got into it well before 1.0 was released. I think a lot of the best stuff about the game is more in mods than the vanilla game, though as the creator of one large total conversion I may be biased there!
Ooh, pretty :)
Oh so pretty!
I just thought I'd update here, but as i'm sure you all know bannerlord early access is out in March, not long now!
Also since I last posted there is tonnes of new screenshots and gameplay videos posted here: https://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord (https://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord)
Looks amazing! I can't wait - it's been such a long time. It's one of the 2 games I've myself to get properly into for a few weeks instead of do my own dev.
Need to got a decent PC now to play it on!!

I notice that at least in theory M&B can be played on a *nix box ... *evil genius chin-rubbing*
