Title: Special Feature
Post by: Millenium on May 26, 2009, 12:57:07 PM
Before starting this mod I dreamed of a mod, which would work similar to the custom battles-mod. It would allow the player to choose a quick FAMOUS battle, in this way:

Main Menu
Quick battle-
Famous battle-
*a list of famous battles, for example Waterloo, Thermopylaio, Cannae and Cr

I say yes, go for it. You could also maybe do small fights like against the Lethrblaka and the Ra'zac. I can't remember how it happened in the book but you could have another option for the saving of Arya.

I haven't read the book in ages but i think Brom and Eragon fought the Ra'zac together. If you did do the Ra'zac quick battle you could first fight them with Brom and then it could switch to the fight with Roran there.

More ideas for quick battles:
When Arya gets ambushed at the beginning of Eragon.

I'm not sure if it was Gil'ead or Dras-Leona but i'm sure that it was said the elves used to own one of them before Galbatorix took them. There could be an option to play the siege of it.

When Glaedr and Oromis went off to fight towards the end of Brisingr. You could play them in that battle.

When Eragon is nearly assassinated in Farthen Dur.
And so on so on

also- what is a minion. I've noticed some people have them. Is it good or bad

Certainly Urubaen used to be an elf city.

Brom and Jeod's orignal egg-theft could be a seriously cool dungeon fight.

Yeah. We should try to do as many dungeon fights as possible. I don't think theres enough in M&B since only a few mods have them and even those mods have very few.

I can help you guys if you need it.

I have probably read each book 5 times or so...

EDIT: What about when Eragon has to kill the two urgals with magic in the first book? Or when the 8 (?unsure?) Urgals attack him and saphira and he throws them with magic and Brom has to go find all of them and kill them. Or what about when Eragon is trapped between the falls and the door to Farthen Dur, you could have a little battle with a time limit until he figures out he is on the wrong side of the falls.

Understood, however the last one wasn't small scale. I actually don't know why I said "little battle".

Basically it would be the classic "survive while I open the door" thing.

I've found the books. I was looking on the wrong bookshelf.
QuoteWhat about when Eragon has to kill the two urgals with magic in the first book?
When he breaks his arm and has to train with his left hand?
QuoteUrgals attack him and saphira and he throws them with magic and Brom has to go find all of them and kill them
Is that when he is recovering after using magic against the 2 urgals?
Title: Special Feature

When Eragon uses magic for the first time he goes unconscious and brom gets his arm slashed by a urgal, Eragon breaking his arm is later in the story.

Eragon breaks his arm from tripping, he then finds a urgal track and goes back to brom/saphira, urgals catch up, he tosses 8 of them with magic. Brom then rides Saphira to hunt down the urgals one by one.

If you made a special battle of Carvahall, will Carvahall have it's own scene? If you could take one of the larger villages from Native and mod it so it has defenses from the book that would be cool (trees blocking the main roads with trenches behind them)

How 'bout a quest that you can take from Galbatorix (If you're part of the Empire) or from Islanzadi (If you're part of the Varden/elves/Surda) where you have to buy or search for that special ore from meteors used to create rider swords, then once you get the materials, you go to a master smith or Rhunon (according to faction) and you wait for 30 hours, then you get your rider's sword.

It is.

The wedding Dance has destructible doors in dungeons so you may free prisioners and such.

The Carvahall thing was a very, very good idea BTW.
