We are a small indie studio (2-3 people) working on a new strategy game (PC) that combines 4X and tactical card battles!
We put our project up on Kickstarter this week and I would like to share it with this community as we are looking to see what people think of our game: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/taucetistudios/voideclipse (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/taucetistudios/voideclipse)
We also did a Q&A with eXplorminate recently that might help explain what the game is: https://explorminate.co/void-eclipse-qa/ (https://explorminate.co/void-eclipse-qa/)
We would be honored to have your support.
Let us know what you think in the comments!
Welcome! Getting to the 70 percent mark that fast is a really good sign, well done :)
Will look round the ks campaign in more detail when I get home this evening!
Thanks Jubal!
I've had more of a look, it looks a cool setting :)
The battle locations look surprisingly small in terms of the number of squares available. Are they always a fairly consistent size, or do you get bigger ones later in the game?
At the moment they are the same size with changes to the board based on the environment type. I hadn't played around much with making the # of squares larger - kind of creates an issue with being able to easily read the cards from a distance.
Ah, fair enough, that makes sense :)
I've not really tried many strategy games that use this sort of cards type system for their combat, hence the curiosity as to how it works. Are there other examples that particularly inspired you?
Hey,
I just learned about this game (by reading the Updates from the Forge) and I like the setting a lot. The game mechanics also look pretty interesting, I don't think I have seen a game that combines these before.
Hope to see you post some of the progress in the future.
