How are people finding the speed of game/loading? From starting a first playthrough, it's taking a long time on loading screens and occasionally getting lag in battles for me even when I clock all the graphics settings down to low. Not sure if I should just chalk it up as my computer being a bit old or whether it's likely to improve as the engine gets optimised better.
Intial load is long for me, but no problems once in game. I get the odd lag when in massive battles but no problems for me. Hopefully will fix as they update
My computer specs are:
Processor intel i7-6700HQ
8GB Ram
Graphics is an NVIDIA GEForce 950M
4096MB dedicated video memory
All of which seems to exceed the min specs, so it's frustrating that I can't play it on standard settings without lag.
I got a new machine a few months ago with 8GB ram, and had similar speed issues. I upped it to 16GB and it's been loads better.
I suspect that in my case the limited free memory & swap files was causing the game to excessively lean on the processor.
Mine's a laptop and despite only being about three years old I suspect I'd struggle to find anywhere that could upgrade its RAM :(
Maybe if I do a serious cleanout of my C drive and try to remove some of the background clutter programs here and there it might help...
Perhaps, bit I'm afraid I think you need mo ram

OK, so what now? :)
Hopefully they'll improve the optimisation in any case - they are officially aiming for 8gb as the recommended setting, so hopefully that implies they're going to try and get it working properly for my sort of machine. Of course, if Bannerlord takes as long as M&B to get out of beta I might have a new laptop by the time it's done too!
Now I need to add a line to the lexical lists (https://bookandsword.com/2020/01/11/how-the-greeks-got-battering-rams/) for the three-horned ox: it still has a four-legged donkey, a spine, and a mover suspended from a girdle like the good old ones.
I will see if this works with Steam on my laptop.
