So... hi there. After a bit of lurking, I decided to create an account - though I'm honestly not sure what to do with it yet. Probably more lurking.
As my username suggests, I'm interested in all things historical dress/fashion & sewing, and I always like to dabble in related crafts. I'm a trained dressmaker and historian (desperately trying to finish a master's thesis), also an avid reader and book hoarder collector. I guess that's the most important info about me, for now.

Welcome in!
Thank you! :)
Hello hello! Lovely to have you here :)
Of course do make yourself at home and please do feel free to post and comment things anywhere, though equally no pressure to! With your particular skill-set if you ever feel like posting bits of your stuff in The Artisans' Guilds (https://exilian.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=61.0) then that would be super cool!
Thanks! :)
At the moment I don't feel like I have anything interesting to share (hence the lurking), as I'm only slowly getting back into doing more creative stuff after a longer hiatus. But I hope there'll be something eventually!
If your interests include 14th/15th century Latin Christendom you might be interested in https://ageofdatini.info/vocationes.html

Yis, never any hurry, hope you do find space for the creative things - it's always tricky in postgrad life, I know the problem well :)

A bit earlier than my usual centuries of interest (16th-19th), but I'll definitely go have a look, it seems to be a treasure trove of info & sources. Thank you!

Thank you! :) For different reasons, my MA thesis has been dragging on for quite a while now (started 2019), and I'd like to see it all done and printed rather sooner than later - there's still lots of stuff left to do, though. But I'll get there, albeit sloooowly.

Yeah, I very much was in the "need to get this done this year at long last" thing with my PhD last year :) Good luck!
Many thanks!
