Title: Honorbound: ttrpg kickstarter launch
Post by: jerodleupold on February 04, 2025, 03:23:32 PM
Hello! I was encouraged by James Baillie to share an announcement here.

Gamenomicon and myself are kickstarting a ttrpg for zinequest called Honorbound. You can learn all about it here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gamenomicon/honorbound-0?ref=discovery&term=honorbound&total_hits=3&category_id=34

The Pitch:
Three musketeers shot into space with histories woven together ala Charles Dickens. You have been brought together to either stop or shepherd an event. Why or what will be determined through your storytelling while swashbuckling your way through the stars!

Thank you so much for the platform! If you have any questions please let me know!

Actual playtesting sessions can be found here:

Thank you! I have seen the name a bit but never knew exactly what it was.

Nice! Have dropped a pledge in :)

I like the range of species noted, that sounds good: the colony-bacteria are particularly interesting. Kind of reminds me of graptolites and things like that as a concept (where what we see in fossils is the remains of the colony structures not the individual organisms).

Also, something of a Mass Effect vibe with the purging of AI knowledge by super-powerful external AIs? (Though given how tired I am of reading ChatGPT slop lately, I'm feeling more in favour of the AI purge than I would have done a few years ago...)

Amazing! And thank you!

I really like how we ended up structuring the different species. In the game we give you a a 4-5 paragraph outline and then a choice of an inherent ability. After that, you gain experience points by fleshing out their culture, other abilities, and even language. Every group is going to mold the species into something they want to see in their world!

That's neat :) One of my own game/RPG settings, Cepheida, has a similarly diverse array of aliens and an alien generation system, I'll be interested to compare!
