i just got hit with a random phone verification,
shutting me out of my social discord account (this one)
and my only cellphone already dedicated to work account
(for 3d rigging and gamedev (hopefully involving pay))
so i need a dollar store sim card to not lose this one
Oh dear, that sounds an awkward situation. I do worry how these companies expect some people to deal with these phone systems and lockouts, especially as I worry that increasing LLM code will make them more unreliable :/
i wonder how long some smaller, internet-savvy countries
might have before there are people who don't have discord
(yet want to) and zero available cellphone numbers to join
Well, equally, Discord might peak and decline at some point. It's a very good service right now especially for calls etc, but I can imagine it might hit an ensh*ttification loop at some stage.
