I just started this one so you can talk about it. I don't even have the game.

I don't even like it. Age of Emires 2 on the other hand.

I think the whole "Motherland" thing was very interesting. Also limiting the building count was good, I hated castle spam. I think I never had a complaint except for me not being able to save my games, there was a bug on release that "froze" upon loading a save-game

I know what hes saying. there are many glitches on the game...lol maybe because i had the cracked version? but yeah i never really likes it as much as AOE II

Yeah it was pretty buggy IIRC. I found it to be not bad for a while, but once the novelty of some new features wore off (mainly the whole home city thing which was interesting) it was basically just a less fun, less engaging but prettier version of AoK (except the time period).

Also welcome to Exilian Death Nade :) .

Death Nade, admitting to having a cracked version of a game is not allowed on these forums. Since you're new, I'll let you off with an official warning, but don't mention it again, or I'll have to ban you.

On a lighter note, I enjoyed AoE 3 myself, although I was always disappointed by the Americas setting, I wanted to have a proper scrap with Nappy at Waterloo dammit!

I started making an Edge Chronicles mod, that would have been cool if I'd finished it... (cue comment from C_G about me never finishing anything :P )

I'm going to be playing more AoE III this term I think. Early American history ftw :)

(Also, the second AOEIII expansion seems to have been dumped as abandonware already despite being only a few years old - it's practically impossible to buy the expansion packs separately now, which is weird).

Given that I've just read it, I'd also just like to point out something in this article "We wanted to create something that was 30 percent the same, 30 percent borrowed and 30 percent innovative. I think we tried to do too much." Tried to do too much and still only made 90% of a game? Lol.

Once I'm done with term, definitely (I finish on the 11th I think). :)
