However, since this companion has a boomstick, I was thinking that this said companion should not be cheap to get, but not ridiculously expensive (I recall one mod where the made companion was worth 20k to buy). In my opinion, the price range should be anywhere from 1k to 2k, or higher depending on how good you make him...or her.

I will implement him and while I am at it I will add in a companion using a firearm. Just so you know I am planning on adding in a few more firearms, but not too many, since it is not the focus of the mod. I will make him cost a bit more than the price of whatever firearm he uses. Post by: Marcus on February 13, 2011, 07:31:54 PM: Not a suggestion for the mod itself, but using RAR or 7z as your compression format would be better than zip, giving people a smaller file to download. 7z is especially good.

The mod is up to ~680MB currently so if I try 7zip then I can probably maintain the compressed size it is now at 245MB (600MB uncompressed).

Post by: Marcus on February 14, 2011, 02:39:03 PM: Just compressing the current version of New Elgante into 7z now to see what the file size is like. If it's good I'll host it here as a mirror.

EDIT: 125 MB compared to 245 MB. I think it's worth it. ;)

The next patch is unfortunately getting bigger, it is at 712MB currently. If I compress it with 7z then I can get it to 186MB.
But the mod is likely to get even bigger, so by the next patch it may end up the same size again :P
