Title: Warhammer Fantasy RPG Signup: We have our players!
Post by: Phoenixguard09 on November 11, 2011, 01:09:55 PM
I have for several years now, run a more-or-less acclaimed RPG based in the Warhammer World. It occured to me relatively recently that I could well adapt it online play. As I felt in the desperate need to GM a group once more, I went ahead and so this thread is made.

So please, if you are interested post as much on here, preferrably with at least a basic idea of what you would like to play.

Now I realise that several people are busy with Axiosa but I figured I would post this here, mainly because I'm an impatient sod and I couldn't wait to get GM'ing a group RPG again.

Player List:
Alexander: Umforth Back-Snapper, Ogre Mercenary
Therix: Cuautemoc, Saurus Mercenary
Jubal: Frederich Tybarino Bagelskuchs, Tilean Halfling Agitator
NightAngel: Tonto Mortal, Bretonnian Bard
Dripping D: Bjorn Jonstrom, Norscan Berserker
Declan Jones: A Dwarf
Mark the Khan: Barnan Arbell, Estalian Soldier

Consider my interest expressed.
If possible I would like to experiment with an ogre character, this could be quite simple because the ogres are know to hire themselves out to other races. If it is no possible to play an ogre character do not worry as I quite easy going and I will take on any roll the GM need filled. I hope everything goes forward and I look forward to playing.

I am interested, but I am not sure if I will have the time or patience, you see:
I rarely go on exilian, so might not exist at random points in the RP
I also am not sure what character to play (Ever since I heard of an idea for it I have wondered about playing a saurus warrior, but there are lots of implications related with such a character)
WHat sort of style is it going to be? I would like a mix of combat, dialogue situations and a bit of humour if that is possible.

Also, if I can't do saurus, would you mind if I go some sort of wizard, preferably human or elf, since I want to try out a personality type.

Nobody seems to be playing on Axiosa atm.  :(

Nevertheless, consider me 110% in (also, are we doing character Gen as normal, or can we choose our start career?).

I'd quite like to join, if you don't mind. Dwarf character, preferably.

Is it stat-based?

Not that it matters because nothing on this planet will stop me from taking part!

In the system we're using would it be viable to make a character who’s prime directive is to sleep with everyone important we meet? Because I’m detecting unlimited fun with that.

If all else fails Tzeentch.

Post by: Jubal on November 11, 2011, 09:46:37 PM
Don't you mean Slaanesh for sleeping with everyone?

I'd quite like to use my much-loved concept of Frederich Bagelskuchs, Halfling political agitator and worldwide professional gourmet chef and revolutionary. Though obviously only if that concept works with the rules.

Dwarf slayer, warrior priest or Norse barbarian

Wow! This is unbelievable. I was off here for all of 9 hours and already we have massive interest. :D

I will be allowing you to pick your own background which will basically give you the career you want. Remember there must be somewhere to go with it, so no Grail Knights, Swordmasters or what-have-you.

To answer Therix's question, there will be several dialogue situations, quite a bit of combat, some puzzle type scenarios that will not just come down to a dice-roll and enough humour to get us by. I've been told that I'm a funny guy. Well funny git as it happens but close enough right? :P

To answer NA, yes it is stat-based. The profiles will be PM'd to the player at an appropriate date. By that I of course mean when we have everyone sorted out.

So we have:
Alexander: An Ogre.
Therix: I believe I might just be able to get a Saurus in there as I was in fact planning to play this out in Lustria. In that context, a Saurus is eminently possible.
Jubal: Halfling Agitator? This is completely fine. In fact it should be really interesting.
Declan J: A Dwarf.
NA: Sorry mate but you can't be Tzeentch. :D On the other hand I'll pm you a suggestion that I thought of. ;)
DD: Well any of those are possible but I'd prefer not to pick for you. ;)

So 6 players. :D  So at thise point just start thinking about your characters' lives specifically the following questions:
What did your father do?
How did you spend your childhood?
How did you spend the following however-many years?

There's no need to go into massive detail with these questions, just enough to allow me to flesh it out a little. On the other hand, if you want to write a novella about it, feel free. :D

To anyone else out there, I will accept at most three more players.

Cheers guys,

Race: Ogre
Name: Umforth Back Snapper
Gender: Male
Height: 10 feet
Weight: 400-500kilos
Tribe: Maw guts
Tribe's current location: Mountains of Mourn
Position in tribe: Crusher (ogre champion)
Fathers name: Groth Head Snatcher
Fathers position in tribe: Bruiser
Childhood: I spent my childhood sneaking off to watch the hunters in my tribe over whelm and kill Rhinoxen, sabre tusks and many other large game animals. When not watching the hunts I was seeking out fights with the toughest ogres about my age most of the time coming off second best.
From childhood to now: I have lived for many moons not certain  about my age as ogres do not keep time, I made the pilgrimage to the great maw. On my return I found my parents where trampled by a herd of Rhinoxen whilst they where sleeping, many tribe members where killed along with them including my brother. Got myself into the tribes raiding parties and I earned a reputation as a mighty ogre with a gut any ogre would be proud to wear. I was promoted to a ogre crusher because of the services I have provided and the many lives I have taken and the bounty I return to my tribe after the raids.

Just a few small changes to make so that things are a little smoother in the narrative I want to have.

For one, you will be a Bull not a Crusher as a champion like status is just a little too powerful. Actually you will be on your way to being a Maneater.

So here we have Alexander's revised character. Unless you have any extra changes to make, this is it. Do we have an accord?
Race: Ogre
Name: Umforth Back Snapper
Gender: Male
Height: 10 feet
Weight: 400-500kilos
Tribe: Maw Guts
Tribe's current location: Mountains of Mourn
Position in tribe: Bull
Fathers name: Groth Head-Snatcher
Fathers position in tribe: Bruiser
Childhood: The Ogre known as Umforth spent his childhood sneaking off to watch the Hunters overwhelm and kill Rhinoxen, Sabretusks and many other large game animals. When not watching the hunts he sought out fights like any other self-respecting Ogre its age, often coming off second-best.
From childhood to now: After several years, Umforth made a pilgrimage to the Great Maw to make its observances. Upon returning, the young Ogre found his family and many members of his tribe trampled in a Rhinox stampede. Upon finding this Umforth immediately made his way to the lands of Men hoping to make a name for himself, not to mention food and gold. After years of travelling across the world, Umforth finally boarded The Celeste, a large Bretonnian Corvette headed for the colony of Bregonne on the Lustrian coast.

(Just a few small changes so it's not in 1st person as it makes it a little easier for me to keep track of in addition to changing your latter years a little so they're not quite so overboard and puts you where I want you.)

Haha, I just made a gusitmation. Its just some RPG's use the characters weight for different mechanics like opening larges or jarred doors. I was merely making sure just incase the RPG featured any mechanics that involved the weight of a character namely my character being big has its advantages.

Race: Halfling
Name: Frederich Tybarino Bagelskuchs
Gender: Male
Height: 3.7 feet
Weight: 45 kilos
Father's name: Enrico Bagelskuchs (deceased)

Story: Born in Pavona in Tilea, where he learned to cook and write in the hope of one day becoming chief cook to the Duke. Escaped Dwarf/Halfling persecutions by a new Duke (the old Duke's son, something of a species-ist who didn't trust the power and influence the Dwarfs had) at a fairly young age (these claimed the lives of his family), and travelled north to the Empire via Miragliano. The experience of seeing humans persecute Dwarf and Halfling children helped radicalise his political opinions against the nobility who had ordered the purges.

His previous adventures include travelling through the Drakwald forests and running away from Beastmen, as well as helping instigate a small revolt in Steingart in the southern Empire in which he and a number of other halflings battled Imperial troops alongside the people of Steingart and Loningsbruck. Having somehow not been killed yet, he is continuing to journey around looking for sentient beings of any race to Spread The Word To and has begun trying to write a book on his philosophies and experiences.

He is literate, highly opinionated, a fantastic baker, and will spout his rather lunatic ideas to anyone who will listen. He has dark hair, tends to wear a leather waistcoat and floppy hat, and carries a bow and a knapsack full of cooking equipment, paper, and pamphlets. Generally he has an affinity with Dwarfs (and Halflings of course), and dislikes nobility of any race.

Quotations:
"This is about the smell of freedom. Imagine freshly beaked bread, but better."
"Some of us may die today. But with noblemen crippling us with taxes and demands, are we not dead already?"
"There is nothing that cannot be solved with determination, a pen, and paper. Though liberal quantities of marmalade help as well."
"Why make a point with arrows and swords when you can make a point with words? What do you mean, that's no excuse for hiding under a cart when Beastmen are attacking?"
"I was born in Pavona, but Pavona is not my home. My home is wherever my saucepan is, wherever there are ears to listen to me, and wherever there is hope for a better tomorrow. Such is the lot of a Halfling Revolutionary."

I like him. I like him a lot.

After the disastrous attempt to "revolutionise" the village of Helmscheer, Frederich managed to escape with his life southwards into Bretonnia. After some desperate scrounging and some rather choice cookery jobs, he soon found himself sufficient funds to make a new start. Realising that his job was far more difficult in the presence of firm control, Frederich decided that the colonies of Lustria made for a veritable goldmine. Or in his words, "A cake-shop with a menagery of cakes and scones and such." Thus he finds himself on board The Celeste, making for the burgeoning colony of Bregonne.

And there is the story so that we know why he is there. Anything you'd like changed there Jubal?

Race: Saurus
Name: Cuautemoc (caw-ewe-tem-oc)
Gender: N/A (last time I checked saurus don't have genders)
Height: 8 feet
Weight: 150-200 kilos (This is a guess, since I am not sure how heavy saurus really are)
Spawning pool: Pool of the Leaders in the city of Tlaxtlan

Cuautemoc was originally spawned from the pool which by tradition spawned the best of the Tlaxtlan leader/warriors. However, an unfamiliar quirk in his creation saw that ability stripped away from him and as a result of the same quirk he bore a mark of the old ones, or so it seemed, in the form of a rancid coloured scar down the right side of his face. After consultation of the plaques and records, the skink priests found it marked him as touched by chaos and therefore not to be trusted.

For a time the revelation threw Tlaxtlan into pandemonium, for the priests were unsure how to react. The taint clearly evident in this saurus raised the question of the taint of the entire spawning, and some believed that only the extermination of them all would save them from chaos. However, such a purge would leave the temple city undermanned in the event of war. In the midst of this madness, the Slann Chimalpahin of the fourth generation emerged from the temple and silenced the city with a flicker of thought. From there he issued a proclamation that the one who bore the mark was to be exiled, along with twelve from the same spawning pool. Cuautemoc, and the rest who were exiled did nothing to act against this, leaving the city as soon as they ahd been selected.

While his mind had been robbed of the great leadership of the Oldbloods, he still was possessed with an intelligence that was above the common saurus warrior, and he knew that while he could not serve his temple city or his gods, the younger races may wish for his services. With this thought in mind he and his group set out towards the Lustrian coast, intent on selling their services as mecenary groups to the young races. Naturally, he still despises chaos but will work alongside them, his ideals of chaos and order jaded somewhat.

This dream was not to be, for the jungle is a dangerous place, even for a mighty saurus, and by the time he reached the coast of Lustria, he was the lone survivor. As he stared out over the waters, noticing only a barrier, his expressionless face turned to watch a ship approach the shores. Written clearly on the side was The Celeste.

He began to follow the ship along the shore.

Technical information:
He barely ever speaks, and when he does, it is often in short, barked commands. He carries no possessions apart from the gold armour worn by every saurus, the shield and a mace carved for him by those in the temple city. He will work for any race apart from those who side with chaos, who he has a natural hatred against. He does have greater intelligence than normal saurus, so is still somethng of an acolade when it comes to tactics.

That's great Therix. I have but one small request that may make things difficult for you. At least at first. You won't be able to speak any language other than the appropriately named Saurus. That being said, what you can actually say in that tongue is impressive. (For a Saurus anyway. You won't exactly be philosophical but you'll be reasonably intelligent.) Anyway, I have a possible plot-point for you that I will discuss in PM but for now, that's great. Thank you.
Title: Re: Warhammer Fantasy RPG Signup
Post by: therix on November 12, 2011, 08:33:35 PM
Although I remember that Saurus could deliver simple commands in standard english like 'kill' or 'retrieve'
Title: Re: Warhammer Fantasy RPG Signup
Post by: Jubal on November 12, 2011, 09:56:15 PM
I'm sure Saurus CAN speak Imperial in theory, but for most Saurus they wouldn't have wanted or needed to learn it. I think what Phoenix is trying to say is that your character probably wouldn't have needed to learn it yet, so you'll have to go about doing the learning over the course of gameplay.
Title: Re: Warhammer Fantasy RPG Signup
Post by: therix on November 12, 2011, 10:07:41 PM
Me & Phoenix are in a discussion about what is going to happen, so it's all being sorted.
Title: Re: Warhammer Fantasy RPG Signup
Post by: Phoenixguard09 on November 13, 2011, 02:05:39 AM
As far as I could remember Saurus actually lack the physical necessities for speaking languages such as Reikspiel or Breton but I may be misremembering. As far as I knew, Saurus could say such eloquent phrases as "kill," "retrieve," and "tasty" in their own tongue. At the very least, you are correct Jubal in that, regardless of their physical or even mental ability to speak it, Cuautemoc would have had no opportunity or inclination to learn it.

On the other hand, as I have discussed with Therix, communication may be difficult at first but there is a good chance there will be some good understanding going on here. Hopefully. That being said, botched dice rolls can still screw things around but we'll see how that goes.

Thanks again guys. I'd appreciate it if the others would do something similar to what Jubal, Therix and Alexander have already done.

Cheers,

Name: Tonto Mortal
Race: Bretonnian human
Calling: Bard
Age: 17
Height: 4’8’’
Weight: Wouldn’t you like to know.

Father’s name: Baron Firenza Mortal

History: Born into the wealthy Mortal family Tonto was expected to become knight, serving the king and Bretonnia’s interests. This however was not the path Tonto himself decided was right.

Tonto was educated in the classical arts at his mother’s request and found a love of music and song. His skills with a blade were lacklustre and his horsemanship was unremarkable. After many years of fighting between what was expected of him and what he loved Tonto informed his father of his intentions to leave Castle Mortal and become a famous bard.

His father, a respected lord who was awarded his land after a successful crusade into Araby, disapproved of this and isolated him from his books and instruments in the barracks. In the dead of night Tonto escaped and took what he could carry from his room. He also stole his book of poetic works which he values above all else.

Armed with a rapier, his lute, and a little stolen gold Tonto set out to make his fortune. He made his way to the coast, playing and singing in pubs to keep him feed. Upon arriving in the port of Bordeleaux Tonto decided his first adventure as a famous bard would be to go on a grand adventure to a far off land and return to tell the fine people of Bretonnia of what they could not see. He found the first ship heading to a far off place and offered his services as entertainment, which were gladly received.

There we go, Tonto Mortal is ready for action.

how do you know my name...

Name: Björn Jonstrom
Race: Norse Human
Calling: Einherjar (lone warrior)
Age: 24
Height: 6'4".
Father’s name: Chief Harald Jonstrom

History: Being the second eldest Björn was always the outcast, destined for little if anything, in his isolation Björn learnt the ways of the war from a scarred veteran known simply as 'Warrior'. Before Warrior left the tribe to seek glory further north he told Björn of the wealth and adventure to be had forging his own destiny and giving a fat finger to the gods. Heeding these words Björn left his fathers tribe at 15 and spent the next 9 years becoming a feared swordsman and raider from Norsca to Araby. His latest journey has taken him to mysterious shores of Lustria, a land of ancient ruins and strange cold blooded creatures. With his trusted blade, Kettlingr, Björn is ready for any challenge the jungle can throw at him!

Ok well that's alright I'll keep in mind that some of the more obscure things might be a little difficult for you. As far as where you're from, may I suggest that you take an Estalian character? I have a possible plot-hook that might be interesting. Of course it is up to you.

Post by: Cuddly Khan on November 17, 2011, 10:57:03 AM
Yeah. OK. They look like the kind of guys I was thinking about at the time.

Name: Barnan "Smity" Arbell
Race: Estalian human
Calling: Retired Veteran Soldier
Age: 67
Height: 180cm
Weight: 75 Kilograms
Father’s name: Never knew who he was. (Grew up as an orphan)

Childhood: Barnan had no friends, he grew up in an orphanage and was almost always picked on for his hair. It had always been white for some reason. His time spent in the orphanage was spent mostly reading stories about great battles and learning to read and write. In secret he used to spend his spare time practicing sword fighting with a stick.

Since then: When he was 14 he was recruited into the army. He didn't have any say about it. In the army he only had one friend, the rest of the recruits were all too judgmental about his hair. After he left boot camp he went to the real army. His first battle was terrifying for him but after the next and the next he got more use to it, but no-one could get used to all dieing. He was one of the best and advanced through the ranks quickly and found himself leaving his friend behind. When he was 30 he almost lost his right army and had to use his left arm for most of the hard work, after a while he was good with his left hand, he could fight with it, write with it and work with it. Even after his right arm got better he still used his left for most stuff because he was more used to it. At 43 he found out that his old friend had died and it shook him up pretty bad. He had completely forgotten about him. He than realized that in his line of work he wouldn't die of old age so he set out looking for a place to settle in. At 51 he arrived in Lustria and found it to his liking. Apart from the poisonous animals, insects, plants and the heat the jungles were pretty and full of wonder. He adapted pretty well to the climate and built a house safe up a tall tree. At 53 he saved the daughter of a Lizardman Chieftain, named Tlaxtza, from a huge snake. In return the Chieftain offered him a magical long sword made of a black metal. Ever since than he has lived up in a tree and been friends with a Lizardman Chieftain. Three times he had gotten poisoned by something or a type of disease had gotten to him and the Lizardman Chieftain had saved him. He taught Barnan their language and how to make cures and antidotes for various poisons and infections. They were good friends. He had never understood why but Tlaxtza said that he could never repay him because if he hadn't saved his daughter than his line would fall because there would be no one to take his place.

Not sure if this is alright, if not I can change it.

Yeah I think we'll go to 6' 4" for Bjorn. Still damned tall but hopefully not going to have to duck to enter a cathedral. :P

To Mark: Well I think we'll go with it up to the point where he's looking for somewhere to settle down so we can navigate around the potential minefield of female Lizardmen. :)  So no starting with a magic sword or a house either, they'll need to be earned at a later date. Thanks mate, I'll write up your profile now.

Still waiting for Declan J to make a return appearance and for my new set of dice to arrive before we can begin. We're getting mighty close now guys.

Problem is with Lizardmen, they don't have females. All lizardmen are created from spawning pools, so this guy might have saved some important lizard, but it wouldn't be a daughter.

Lol there willl be no easy way out of the communication issues for you my friend! :P

And I could but I always feel as if that's a cheap and unsatisfactory way of doing it. I mean, there's just something about the nice solid weight of a handful of real physical dice. :D

I guess I could do without the sword and it doesn't really matter if it was just his son but I'm keeping the house. Do you want me to edit it?

Name: Barnan "Smity" Arbell
Race: Estalian human
Calling: Retired Veteran Soldier
Age: 67
Height: 180cm
Weight: 75 Kilograms
Father’s name: Never knew who he was. (Grew up as an orphan)

Childhood: Barnan had no friends as he grew up in an orphanage in Estalia and was regularly bullied due to the colour of his hair, which had always been a ghostly white since the moment of his birth. His early years in the orphanage were spent reading old stories about great battles and learning to read and write. In secret he used to spend his spare time practicing sword fighting with a stick.

Since then: When he was 14 he was recruited into the army. The men of his Tercio were generally unfriendly, with his hair being a decisive factor in their hostility. His first battle was naturally terrifying. Sadly, while the combat is no longer as shocking as it used to be, no-one could get used to the dying screams of friends and comrades.

Barnan rose through the ranks at a steady pace, leaving his friend behind as his importance within the Tercio grew. When he was 30 he almost lost his right arm and had to learn to use his left arm for most of the hard work. Soon enough, he was proficient with his left hand. After the long months of practice Barnan found he could fight with it, write with it and work with it. Even after his right arm healed, he continued to use his left because he had grown accustomed to it. At the age of 43 he found out that his old friend had died. The resulting shock sent Barnan into a deep depression as he realised it had been many years since he had spared a thought for one of very few men who had shown him kindness.  He than realized that in his line of work he wouldn't die of old age so he set out looking for a place to settle in. At 51 he arrived in Lustria and found it to his liking. Apart from the poisonous animals, insects, plants and the heat the jungles were pretty and full of wonder.

As a relative native he'll have resistance to tropical diseases. Ina ddition to this he'll be ambidextrous. On the other hand, no house or magic weapon, nor saving the lizard princess as we can't have too many awesome feats from the PC's before the game.

Resistance to tropical disease and ambidextrous isn't that much of a boost. There's not a very good chance that you'll get a disease because we aren't aloud to make other people do stuff and I don't think you'll give a tropical disease to yourself. Ambidextrous on the other hand is not much of a boost. It's more of a character personality. I like it, you pretty much just took the last bit out of it :).

As far as skills and such that everyone has,

Umforth: Skills:
Grudge: Rhinoxen (You'd hate them too if they trampled your family)
Mountain Born (Bonuses for surviving in the mountains. Just small things like knowing what can cause avalanches, little nifty things like where to find food, etc.)
Brawler (He's an Ogre so naturally brawling is a large part of their "society")
Mighty Strike (Well he is massive)
Natural Resistance: Poison (Once again, he's an Ogre. He eats things that would kill an normal person for breakfast. That being said, he eats normal people for breakfast too :P )

Frederich: Skills:
Public Speaker (Bonuses to tests involving swaying crowds and such-like)
Skilled Orator (Similar to the previous one except it is used in normal conversation too)
Trade Skill: Baker (Baker extraordinaire. All haflings have some sort of cookery Trade Skill)
Enhanced Hearing x2 (He's a Halfling)

Cuautemoc: Skills:
Brawler: (Not exactly studied fighting, more wild and uncontrolled. That and a Saurus is still incredibly deadly without a weapon)
Natural Weapons: Jaws, Claws and Tail. (Ouch)
Proficient Tactician: (As a Saurus, tactics come naturally)
Common Knowledge: Lustria (A given really)
Enhanced Hearing x2 (Once again as a Saurus he has good senses)
Natural Resistance: Poison (He's had more poisonous things bite him than Steve Irwin ever did)

Tonto: Skills:
Play Instrument: Mandolin (He's a bard)
Etiquette (A real charmer)
Card Counting (And a cheat)
Pick Locks (Possibly even a petty thief)
Ride: Horses (Minor Bretonnian noble, so riding comes relatively naturally)
Sleight of Hand (Entertaining, thief and cheat)
Heraldry: Bretonnian (As a Bretonnian Noble he'd have a good idea who bears what)

Bjorn: Skills:
Common Knowledge: Norsca (A bit of a given really)
Navigation (He's a raider)
Row (He's a raider)
Sail (He's still a-raiding)
Mighty Strike (Well you're a BIG viking. I figured you needed something that would allow you to be a viable offensive character even with the Ogre and the Saurus around)

Barnan: Skills:
Common Knowledge: Lustria (He's been there for a while now)
Ambidextrous (Not a great deal but on the other hand, you get no penalty for using a weapon in an off-hand as you don't have an off-hand)
Natural Resistance: Disease (Once again, he's been in Lustria for a while)
Rudimentary Tactician (He's an old veteran from a combined arms regiment. He would have picked up a few pointers)

So there's the skills, not including Declan J's Dwarf or any other players we get. (We may be getting one more, playing a female Light Magister from Tilea, but we'll see how that goes.)

Cheers,

Jubal's playing Frederich. :D And he makes up for it with all the equipment he has. (Pamphlets, a small baking oven etc. He's loaded. :P )

Ok guys, the campaign is going to be called Dark Majesty. It will be set in Lustria and will have some nail-biting action, some mystery, some backstabbing and the arrival of the cavalry. Whether or not the arrival of the cavalry is a good thing for you, we shall see. :D

For now, this is the story-line which will be modified once the player's list has been finalised.

The Celeste comes to a rest in the Bretonnian colony of Bregonne upon the east coast of Lustria just as the sun begins to set. The people of Bregonne seem to be thriving, an appearance which has been encouraged to manifest itself in the face of constant danger and fear. The roving bands of Lizardmen in the jungle, Norse raiders from Skeggi or further north, vicious Amazon tribeswomen from the Dark Heart and even rivals from the other Old Worlder colonies all make punitive attacks on a semi-regular basis. The colony may be thriving but only because the inhabitants live life to their fullest extent now rather than conserve their energy and resources for a tomorrow which may never arrive.

The many passengers aboard the Celeste disperse throughout the burgeoning colony, eager to once again sleep in a bed that isn’t being tossed across the vast ocean.

Among these passengers is the renowned Halfling "revolutionary and baker extraordinaire," Frederich Tybarino Bagelskuchs. Tired after the long sea voyage, Frederich makes his way to the Black Crown tavern along with several others of his erstwhile companions, a few of whom he has managed to converse with on the voyage.

One of these was the budding Ogre Maneater, Umforth Back-Snapper. A young Ogre from the far-off Mountains of Mourn, Umforth has headed to Lustria in search of employment. Knowing the lot of a Halfling revolutionary, Frederich was quick to enlist his help with the promise that Umforth will get to eat any of the Halflings enemies after due bureaucratic process.

Another passenger also makes his way to the Black Crown, Tonto Mortal, formerly of Bretonnia. After offering his services to the Celeste's captain as an entertainer, he was given more privileges than any other onboard. This was not saying much, as the majority of the passengers were all but crammed into a small area of the ship and left to their own devices. At any rate, Tonto heads into the Black Crown with the promise that he will play for the tavern in exchange for bed and board.

The tall Norseman, Bjorn Jonstrom surreptitiously heads into the Black Crown as well. Down at the docks he got into an unfortunate scrap which left two young men bloodied, bruised and unconscious and another with a snapped neck. The latter was disposed of swiftly into the murky depths, but he needs to throw any persuit of his trail. At a brisk jog, Bjorn enters the Black Crown, a fair distance from his run-in. There he waits in his room, ready to make a stand worthy of song against the watchmen if he has to.

Meanwhile, outside the protective palisade of Bregonne, Cuautemoc deftly strides through the wilderness. He has followed the Celeste for days now and is close to his goal. He knows from experience that the people from over the ocean pay fighters to take his people's gold and artifacts. He figures that perhaps if he is with them he might be able to persuade them otherwise, especially as he is not accepted by his own. As quietly as a big, scaled lizardman can he slips over the palisade and down to the docks in search of the passengers.

Erstwhile resident of Bregonne, Barnan Arbell has spent the last few years browsing the market for somewhere to settle down. In his downtime he has been taking small mercenary contracts as a bodyguard or other-such small-time work. He only returned to Bregonne earlier in the day after a short journey to Port Heldenhammer as a guardsman for a small trade caravan. Having so recently had his pocket furnished with silver, Barnan immediately took to the Black Crown to while away the night with an all too short period of revelry.

More to come,

Looking in a market for 16 years... LOL!!!! I like it though. Maybe a bit of hunting as well. Sometimes he can't find a good job and also to get food and pelts to sell. Just an idea but he has been there for a while and I'll be damned if he doesn't know how to kill a rabbit... there are rabbits there right?

In Lustria? Not sure about it, they have probably been eaten already.
If there are any, they are likely ten-foot lizard-rabbits.

Being a hired gun/mercenary/caravan guard there would be a lot of vicious, poisonous animals out there that wouldn't be very safe a sword distance. Barnan would be dead by now if he just used a sword against a 10 foot tall rabbit with scales ;D.

Info for character. Sorry about the wait. Bit brief, but I hope it'll do.

Name: Folstaff

Age: 56

Father's occupation: Folstaff Sr. was a veteran warrior in Karak Hirn, until mysterious and untimely death in a minor Goblin attack.

Childhood/early life: Folstaff grew up adopted by a master blacksmith, and therefore entered into the blacksmith's trade as an apprentice. Overworked, berated and tormented by his master, Folstaff's early life was a difficult one. Unable to endure it any longer, Folstaff violently attacked his master and was exiled from the hold as a result.

Current life: Left to wander the Old World (largely the Empire), Folstaff has been involved in a few small adventures, including a brief career as a pit-fighter. Having discovered that his only real talent lay in fighting, he soon offered his services as a mercenary, but with limited success. Searching for adventure, he set off to Lustria; unbeknownst to him, the majority of the area is covered in dense jungle.

Aaah your a Norscan mate, berserking is in your blood. Doesn't mean that you approach all fighting like a wild animal, it's just that occasionally, in the middle of a fight, you'll decide that these particular gutterarmadilloes deserve to die.

I'm pm'ing character sheets now, I just didn't get a chance earlier because I had a prior commitment.
