Title: Poetry Slam - Classical (Finished)
Post by: Jubal on September 10, 2012, 11:54:25 AM
The classical slam is for people performing and reading a poem written before 1918. They are expected to upload a video of the performance to YouTube. Three judges will give marks out of ten and an average taken. Judging will begin on the 19th or when all entries are in, whichever is sooner.

Entrants:
Jubal
Nightangel
Andalus

Judges:
Confederate Jeb
SturmChurro
Doomchild

another well well known classic, Andulas im looking to you for something really obscure. Not that there's anything wrong with Jubal and NA's choices.

I'm so very, very tempted to read something by Arany János. The rules didn't say the poem had to be in English, right? ;D

The poem can be in any language you like.  :)

In the end I decided to go for a true English classic:

Nightangel the clear winner with 27 scored, an average of 9
Jubal and Andalus both score 23, an average of 7 2/3

I think we probably therefore have to ask for countback on SC's score, since he was the only judge not to show a preference.

SturmChurro, could you make a deciding vote between the bronze and silver?

Not sure how I would do this, but I will try.
