It's official.
Creative Assembly and SEGA are working on Warhammer Total War!

Oh, armadillo. That could be very bad news.
-
It will be :( .
It will hopefully be amazing though :D
-
Yeah, hopefully it'll be a good game, certainly hopefully better than the previous attempts at gameifying WH.
Just kind of undercuts the best part of five years work on my part. Not to mention the greatly increased possibility someone might try and quietly imply that if I don't stop WHTW I will find myself in a nice comfy padded cell (or more realistically with a fine larger than my actual worldly wealth). Ah well, we'll see.
-
Well there's no harm in being prepared to start a new project, right Jubby?
-
I understand your worries Jubal.
But if this turns out as good as Mark of Chaos, just on a bigger scale I'll be more than happy.

If I thought that, there wouldn't be a poll in the boozer right now asking for advice on which projects I should work on. :P
SW: we'll see. I want there to be a good faction range fairly importantly, and not too much good/evil polarisation, either of those could ruin it really easily.

You have the disclaimer thingy, it's cool.
-
are we going to get lawsuits now for the mods we're hosting?
-
No, at most we'll get a legal order to desist. We're probably not worth their time though.
-
There better be modability too. Cause they sure as hell won't do High Elves well enough to my liking and I rather doubt they'll do Albion, Chaos Dwarves, Estalia etc.
Honestly, this could be very good, or oh so very bad. :(
-
My I want list would be unrealistically long, I can assure you. :P
-
I'm not expecting that much.
As long as they make something "Storm of Chaos" like.
I just want them to get the feeling right, like Mark of Chaos did.
-
What I Want:
Sandbox open world campaign.
Something very similar to Total War but with recruitable Heroes with abilities like Mark of Chaos had.
Army Painter like Mark of Chaos, but no real need to have all the customisation so that it can retain some modability.
Massive battle maps and a World Map which spans the entirety of the Warhammer World.
Creatures and civilisations which appear only in the background. I will be very disappointed if Kislev does not make an appearance. For that matter, I'd like Fimir and the like as Rebel/Bandit groups.
Naval combat with ships, sea creatures and spells.
What I Fear We're Likely To Get:
Something VERY similar to Mark of Chaos with a linear campaign.
No Army Painter.
A World Map of the Empire.
Armies consisting of four-six of GW's most popular armies: High Elves, Empire, Dwarves vs Dark Elves, Chaos and Greenskins. Maybe some Skaven, Undead and perhaps Bretonnia. But I'm not holding out much hope for those later ones.
Little to no modability.
