Faction details & background:
The Free League are an anarchic coalition of democrats, anarchists, rebels, bandits and freedom fighters. They have few concrete aims except their ambition to create worlds free of the militarised regimentation of the Homeworlds, the religious fanaticism of the Lexihad, or of course the feudal lordships of the Verwynn. The league was founded by and is still predominantly s'ruba, though gruth and humans are often found within their ranks as well as other species.
Some league cells effectively adopt terrorist tactics against governments to try and create instability and allow populations of settled worlds to run the risk of rebellion. Others are more humane, trying to find forgotten rocky worlds to settle on and build new lives - still others form military coalitions and attack space stations or military bases. All, however, share one common belief; in their freedom. Whether a bandit, terrorist, thief, revolutionary, settler, ideologue, or simply stubbornly independent, a Free League ship captain is ultimate master of his or her own fate as the stars lay before them.
