Title: 3 Additional Factions
Post by: Lenin Cat on December 25, 2013, 01:08:48 PM
Soooo, after eliminating the Senate, Brutii and Julii we will have 3 free slots. I chose 5 factions I would like to have here and I would like you to vote.

Illyria, Pergamum and Massalia would be my choices :)

I went for the one that sounded the most familiar. (Picts because I think they're in AOE 2)

Possibly Iceni/ Eceni? They lived in Norfolk somewhere around  1st century BC to the 1st century AD .

The current Britons are basically badly stereotyped Iceni anyway, though it would be nice of that was made explicit. My home turf. :)

Well that's fixed in RTW2.

There are 5 or 6 factions in Britannia, Scotland and Ireland.

I might rename Britons as Iceni. Give suggestions for them in the "Help Lenin" thread.

That would also be a mistake.
Not all Britons were Iceni.

As I said (and confirmed by Jubal) Iceni inhabited the area of Norfolk:

This is how they are presented in RTW2:

As you can see they were given a bit more relevance.

As far as I remember, in RTW1 Britons are presented as confederation and that's why they start with the whole island united.

Yeah the Britons in RTW represent all 'Britannic' Peoples as well as the Belgae

As far as I can see Picts will certainly get a place, along with Illirya.

Look at it this way (I learned the hard way with HRTW). If you make something and release/preview it and people compliment you and want more, it is a lot easier to make more.

When you promise things but never do it, you just keep on promising things that never are made.

All I am saying my friend is that if you get something made, post it and it will propel you to stay dedicated to the mod. :)
