So guys... I will need some help.
First I need a base mod for that. I would like ahowl11 to let me use his Unified Rome.
Then I will need help to implement units in the game through barracks.
If you have suggestions on units I am more than glad to listen.
-
Have you PMed ahowl? And what aspects of unit making are you unsure on?
-
If you have the Unified Rome Mini Mod downloaded please reupload it. I lost it and the links are broken
-
Oops :(
-
Are you wanting the vanilla map or Mundus Magnus Map?
-
I don't think I've got unified Rome but I'll have a check...
-
It was something I posted on TWC awhile back. Not sure if many people downloaded it. Using Gamefront was a bad decision
-
Indeed it was.
And no, I want to use the regular map if you got it.
-
Regular? Meaning vanilla? You should have that :)
-
I refuse to help you Feline Catbeast as I've heard that you are of detestable descendance.
-
Bloody Brit!
-
We are all Exilians here. Your former nationalities are meaningless. Please lie back and permit assimilation to continue.
-
Ok. I need someone to make me a vanilla map with no Senate, Brutii or Scipii and Julii holding all regions also being renamed to Romans (well this I can do myself-renaming).
Also after I finish this project (God knows when) I want to start another one with a fictional history on BI. With a Greek Empire!

Would this be a good start point? :)
Also in terms of region holding, if you want to change that it's relatively simple, go to
world/maps/base/campaign/imperial_campaign/descr_strat.txt
And then you'll see scrolling down that there are all the factions with the towns they hold beneath (and rebel towns at the bottom). You can then just cut/paste the towns to where you want the ownership to be. :)
-
Ummm, does it also remove the Senate missions and stuff?
-
I think so, since it removes the Senate faction I think it has to; I haven't tested it myself, but might be a good thing to take a look at/save a heck of a lot of time.
-
Boom. Perfect for what you are wanting. Get's rid of the senate functions but keeps all Roman Factions Intact. I use it for all of my mods.

Ha! Good ol' jolly Neutralised Senate! Now, when I'll use it. How can I add my other factions?
-
I think you just want to start by going to move the relevant stuff around in descr_strat and give the Julii however much of Italy you want to give them - then you can start modifying the other factions into what you want them to be, give them their new provinces, etc.
List of things that you'll need to look at, from memory:
- Banners, this is fairly simple, this is just a .txt file and making/editing a couple of graphics files
- New faction icons for your new factions, the biggest type is in the loading screen folder then there are two smaller types in menus (Start by making the big ones then shrink them or they go blurry)
- UI files in the data/UI/Generic folder, two of these (can't remember which) have the faction icons in as well.
- Obviously reskinned/new/edited units
- Export_descr_buildings so you can build said units
- expanded_bi.txt in the text folder, this contains all the faction names
- descr_strat.txt to change who owns what on the map
My advice is to start on banners and units (and maybe expanded_bi), that means you can get some nice shots of new units etc done with pretty new banners and get people interested in the mod more :)
-
expanded_bi? This is a mod for RTW 1.5.
-
I know, I didn't make up the silly names of the files; that's what it's called. By the time they released the 1.5 patch they had BI very much in the works, so I guess that's why. It's text file with all the faction names etc so fairly vital.
