Title: Request a fandom forum
Post by: Jubal on September 01, 2014, 09:29:29 PM
Does your fandom not have a forum yet? This is the place to fix that!

Just post here requesting the fandom; admins will then decide whether it merits a forum, or would be better served by a discussion thread or forum elsewhere on the site.

Please note that if you are looking for a forum for your own work this is probably not the appropriate place. Unless you are an internationally famous writer or something, in which case we humbly grovel at your feet and beg forgiveness.

You realise that you ARE an admin, and can actually just make forums unilaterally without putting in a request, right?  :P

I would feel weird making fandom sites that only I would be interested in

Are we restricted by age ratings for fandoms and associated content *coughrule34ccough*

Also I have no idea on how to create child boards

Star Wars. Ask me literally anything Star Wars and I will know the answer.

I don't know if Alan Moore has enough fans here to justify a board but I can talk for hours about his work.

Just a reminder that several posts in the "Welcome" thread were in favour of a Game of Thrones / Song of Ice and Fire forum. There are various threads elsewhere that could sensibly be collected together.

I have several I want to suggest but in all likelihood it would only be myself interested
Suggest them, and see if anyone else is interested? You might even get some converts!

Can I suggest a Marvel/DC universe fandom board? (together or separate, depends if people are as fiercely loyal to one as I am :P )

Also, though I'm sure it goes withough saying, that there's no 'hating' allowed on these boards based on 'how much of a fan you are' (i.e. How much of said fandom have you experienced). :)[

^ I too, realise i am an admin, and can add it myself, but I'm mentioning to see if there's interest, and to announce that I will do it when I can get on my laptop :P

I'd love a Marvel/DC fandom board.

The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll whisper "okay."

Was about to ask for a MCU forum, but that can be integrated into this. I think you've got enough support that you can go ahead and make it.

Oh yeah, definitely incorporating MCU :)

There are lots that could be contained within a single thread rather than a subforum methinks.

I don't see any harm in very small subforums

They will destroy us all! :o

Yeah, I forget it's a sub forum, not just a thread xD

Which other UK TV shows are there that have 'fandoms' ? I'm struggling to think really... (seeing as Doctor Who has its own sub forum- though i know that's had movie spinoffs etc.)

Life on Mars would be worthy I think.

I've updated the information post to point out where to post stuff that doesn't need a subforum. Tbh I think we've covered most of the major bases, things that don't exist in multiple media would be better suited to the film, TV, comic or book areas of Exilian.

FIREFLY!

Post by: Glaurung on November 02, 2014, 09:59:18 AM
"The Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy" would qualify on multi-media grounds, but I don't know whether there's enough interest here to justify a new sub-forum.

I have no idea how I failed to see Pent and Glaurung's posts - I will set up a Firefly forum soon and think about a Douglas Adams one.

BK:
That was originally the main subject of the Game Room : http://exilian.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=72.0
I think if you want specific subforums for WHFB and WH40K they'd go in there rather than here.

Just started watching firefly the other day, 10 or so episodes in and so far it's okay but I think Cowboy Bebop does the same premise better.

I wasn't impressed by it either.

Eh, I like it - it's good fun and very quotable.

I couldn't quote it now even if I wanted to. :/

Because your mouth fell off as God's punishment for not liking firefly enough?
