Right, I want to see what our favourite character is!
You may submit one character for the ballot, you'll then get to vote for 2 or 3 options depending on how many characters are submitted and most votes wins :)
I will start by submitting Dain Ironfoot. He's awesome, rules Erebor effectively and reunites it with the Iron Hills, is just about the only leader in middle earth to not want to march his troops into suicide missions, and of course importantly is short and beardy. :)

Gandalf.
-
Samwise Gamgee.
-
Tom Bombadil
-
Gandalf.
All of the Gandalf's.
But since he's been taken I'll go with Faramir maybes.
-
Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth.
He's pretty much a perfect knight. Shining armour and all, leading charges, rescuing dragons and slaying maidens. Or at least saving Eomer and his Rohirrim. And Faramir earlier on. And he noticed Eowyn was still barely alive and needed healing so I guess she sort of counts too. That's 3 main-ish character deaths prevented by one very mortal and otherwise unremarkable guy. Generally a pretty decent list of accomplishments for a lifespan as short as a humans.
Runner up for my nomination would be Feanor, Elf berserker kills a host of Balrogs solo including Gothmog, their captain. I also like him because of his many, many faults.
-
Aragorn.
Simply put: the weight of the world stood on his shoulders.
-
Gimli (the dwarf) as I like the way his attitude towards elves changes also, he's pretty kickass.
-
Hmm, can't decide between Merry or Pippin.
-
D: This is a really hard question!
I can't choose between Galadriel and Goldberry. They're both so ethereal and empowered in a really graceful way.

^ also that. I wish I could do that. :P

*feels really bad for forgetting Éowyn D: especially when I find her very relatable :(
-
But she can't cook. ;)

That is true. :P
