Hey guys! I'm Jeff! Found the site linked on Rock Paper Shotgun while they were talking about the Rome: Total War Warhammer mod. Posted a reply, started a thread, then I found the introduction board. Let's see, I've been a gamer forever, tabletop for only half of my forever (being only 20), still enthusiastic about games, so I continue to play! Started out when "Lord of the Rings: Tabletop Game" came out from mean ol' GW, parents bought me the Return of the King starter, and I was hooked from day one. That interest swiftly found its way into Warhammer 40,000 starting with Orks, then moving on to Imperial Guard, Eldar, Tau, Space Marines, Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Orks (again), then finally Choas Space Marines, selling off one army to fund another. Somewhere in there I found my love for Warhammer Fantasy, picking up the Battle for Skull Pass starter, then eventually settling into Skaven and Ogres. After about five years of Games Workshop exclusive ignorance I found out that the online community for these types of games are HUGE!
As I sit now, I have Chaos Space Marines (Don't play 40k, just can't seem to get rid of the models.), Vampire Counts, and some loose Eldar and Orks. I activly play Warmachine and Flames of War, trying to get into the Dark Age skirmish/small battles (As a genetic Northern German/Dane I can't seem to break the tie from the Viking Raiders, I've always had a facination.) Table Top wise, that's about it, in the relm of video games right now I'm still obsessed with the Total War series, Mount and Blade: Warband (C'mon Bannerlord!), and Arma II: Combined Operations.
That's about it, anything else feel free to ask. Looking forward to posting on the forum regularly.

And yes, there's a lot of good wargameyness and boardgaming out there: we've got a development section as well as a discussion section here, so you might find some new games to have a look at. One of my slightly hibernating projects is a sci-fi skirmish game which I should really get back to one day...
That combination of tabletop and PC games does sound like you'll fit rather well in these parts! If you play Rome: Total War and used to play WH40K, have you seen my Battle for Antares IV? AFAIK only Rome Total War mod where you can call orbital strikes. :P

Ah well, perhaps I've just been watching too many people playing those games!
At the start of each chapter of the games there's a friendly answer phone message that usually begins with "Uh, hello! Hello, HELLO!"

Thanks SotK! I found your Python tutorials to be very interesting. I'll give them a solid look over soon to brush up on my coding. ;D
