Good, although why is he holding his crossbow downward in the icon? Looks rather like he's trying to shoot his foot and get out the army...

Also, could we et some civilians done? It'll be a while (maybe a month or two) before I get the combat system to the stage that I don't have to re-code it for every unit, and before that we'll be very limited for troop types. It'd be most useful to start with Doctors, Militia (basically citizens with swords/spears), Traders, and so on.

Oh, I don't see no problems with that... Doctors, Militia, trades and stuff like that are in fact the easiest part. Maybe that skirmisher icon which I have already sent to you can represent human Militia
BTW. I'll try to fix the crossbowman

Your work looks really good... the main points I would make are;
- Posing. The more dynamic the better.
- The colour schemes are good, keep that similar.
