Staff Retirements - Lady Grey & Son of the King
A double announcement today, as two of our longest serving staff members have indicated that they have no time available and will be stepping down from the admin team.
Son of the King is one of Exilian’s longest standing members, having been on our predecessor site Mixed Mods and being our third ever registered member on Exilian itself. He’s been on Exilian staff as our Technikos (tech officer) since early 2012, and was Sebastokrator (voting members’ representative) before that, as well as serving one term as Basileus (head of staff), in 2015. He’s been instrumental in keeping the site running for much of that time, including building & implementing many of the systems that publish posts to the front page, building much of the front end website infrastructure, and sorting out a range of forum modifications and additions over the years to improve the experience of all our users.
As well as being a tech wizard, he’s been one of Exilian’s leading game creators, tutorial writers, and modders: his projects include the ongoing game design project Township, his Spain Mod for Rome: Total War, and numerous tutorials for beginner Python scripters.
Lady Grey has been on staff with responsibility for community & clerisy matters since 2013. She’s been a major part of the life & soul of our community ever since, from loot crate unboxings on YouTube to sharing great recipes, writing AARs, or just chatting around the off-topic parts of the site. She’s been a great person to have on staff for all of that time and – as with SOTK – we hope to see her back whenever she feels like visiting.
SOTK and Lady Grey have been happily married for the last two years, and we (as ever) wish them all the possible happiness in the years ahead, as well as giving them very warm thanks for all their service over the last few years - and of course there’ll always be a very warm welcome indeed for them here on Exilian.
We’ll be discussing our next steps and working out how best to once again expand the admin team in the coming days, and we'll be making more announcements about that in time.
