Title: EXILIAN CHAIN WRITING 2020
Post by: Jubal on March 26, 2020, 05:52:15 PM
EXILIAN CHAIN WRITING, 2020

Update: The project has now started, but we can fit in one or two extra people, so if you still want to sign up, you can do so until Sunday 12.

Exilian chain writing: plague special! As something to get people through quarantine, we are as they say "back".

You can find the wrapup announcement for the last chainwriting project, from 2018, and links to the three stories we produced, here (https://exilian.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=5780).

People signed up: 26

What is chain writing? It's where a bunch of people write a collaborative story! Rather than of the bizarre mess of the three word story (https://exilian.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=1695.0), this is an actual writing thing, and will be done in 250 word chunks. Once we've written some stories they'll all be released and it'll be great and stuff! Read on for the rules and how to sign up:

THE RULES

SIGN UPS

You can use this thread at any point whilst this project is running to discuss what's going on, ask general questions, get advice from other writers, etc, though please refrain from posting actual snippets or discussing direct plot details of ongoing chains.

Thanks, and I look forward to seeing many signups and much writing!

Thanks all, 11 signups already - hopefully we'll get three chains again, or even four if we keep getting a good sign-up rate :)

I was considering, but not sure if my English is up to the task. I will skip this one, but I am eager to read whatever you all come up with  :)

I've read bits of your writing in English and it's absolutely fine (and I can neaten any edges up in proofreading stages anyway), don't let that stop you :)

really anything but history.

One question, though. Is there some way to get an e-mail when it's my turn? I wouldn't want to miss it.

Yes, I'll be doing all the actual stuff by emailing each person with the updated piece when it's their turn :)

Thanks all! I've now assigned people to chains and will be emailing everyone this evening. Or tomorrow if my wrists aren't up to the evening thing.

We can also fit some more people in - I'm not going to advertise it much more but if anyone is reading this and wants to join in still, you still can until midnight on Sunday. Thanks!
