A while ago, my comrades Nizar and Lezalit were captured and held at Ibdeles castle. I went to the nearby village to get them to light a fire and then went to free my friends. I got them out of the prison, but in the ensuing fight, both were knocked out. I won and escaped, but they had to be left behind. I may as well have not bothered.
Have any of you guys ever done something in M&B that you felt you would have been better off not doing?

I have. Those stupid Cow missions.... You try to herd them to the village, get stuck in a battle, and then you have to run half-way across the map to get them back....
-
Cow missions cap the list, certainly.

Yeah.
Those "bandits took a village" missions.
I believe I win with 20+ men. And I loose .__.

Those are annoying because for some reason if you go down everything fails, no matter that there are a ton of heroes and hired blade running round dishing out blue murder.

I know what you mean Jubal. I once went out riding with ~20 Archers (Vaegir) and 15 or so Footmen. I ran into some bandits. Didn't want to fight, auto engage and whatever. Half my archers died, and all my footmen died. they lost 3 people out of 5. I think that there sucks >: (

Auto engage is the worst thing you can do to your troops. They ought to add a feature where your men beg you not to select that option and threaten to desert if you do.

I help some villagers who were being attacked by some looters and there were 14/19 villagers against 1/6 looters but I didn't notice until I was charging at them. Sorry I mean HIM. It was such a wast of time. He died in about half a second anyway.
