So, scheduling and other problems make recording my old podcast, Pledge Break, difficult, but I've been working on a new one, Monster Man. It's me reading my way through the AD&D Monster Manual, but it's not an "old book lol" podcast. It's about the history, mythology, and so on of these monsters, and fun ways to use them in your games.

Any way, you can find it on Libsyn, or just search for Monster Man in your podcast app of choice. Feedback welcomed! After the first few episodes, I shorten the theme song a bit.

ExiliCon 2016 / OK, so what can I do?
« on: June 26, 2016, 02:43:48 PM »
So, I'm supposed to be speaking at ExiliCon 2016, something I'm quite looking forward to. That being the case, what can I do to help with the con? Promote it? Once I have firmer talk details I can give them to various groups I'm part of that discuss the kind of thing I'm going to be talking about, for instance.

So I started a podcast. It's about classic Doctor Who, specifically but not exclusively as it relates to history. It's called Pledge Breal. and you can find it at this link here.

My cohost and I are old fans of the show and have related but generally-non-overlapping areas of nerdery, but one thing neither of us really know about is the podcast genre itself. I feel like I'm improving in technical terms (the mixing on episode 3 is better, for instance), but I'm sure there are still things missing. Comments, criticism, etc. warmly welcomed.

And of course if this isn't the right forum for a podcast, please do let me know!

The Welcome Hall - Start Here! / Hello, everyone

I'm James -- I was at ExiliCon 2015 as one of the Isles of Darkness team and I thought I'd register for the site as a way of keeping track of what the cool people I met there are up to.

Like a lot of people on here, I'm a gamer and a history nerd; I blog about historical and gaming topics, at https://gonzohistory.wordpress.com/ and http://gonzohistorygaming.blogspot.co.uk/ respectively, although there's a lot of overlap.
