One of the keys does unlock the cog, well done; it's a start, you now just have a huge cog which is too stiff for you to physically turn  :P

Does anyone think TIR would be good as a puzzle computer game? It's something I've considered for a while.

Tabletop Games - The Game Room / Re: So what is Warhammer?

Skirmish games are where most of the rest of the market is.

The initial start-up costs of producing plastic figures are prohibitive for all but the biggest companies; producing a mould for decent plastic figures is a process with a lot more stages and difficulty than doing so for metal figures. This means most smaller outfits rely on skirmish scale stuff as you can sell enough models for a game without stripping the lead off every church roof in western Europe to do so.

For a full scale wargame, Warhammer is the best rules system. Unless you're regularly going to be playing at Games Workshop clubs and events, the models are quite overpriced though, so shop around. As noted above, metal is more common for small retailers than plastic, so (for example) plastic Dark Elves you'll find it hard to get non-GW ones (though EBay is always hugely useful here in getting them cheap). For your heroes etc, there will be a decent number of alternatives out there.

Okay, in the "Target" line, try replacing "RTW_MP" with "Rome - Total War" so it actually matches the file path where RTW is.

Are you definitely patched to RTW 1.5? And can I see a screenshot of when you right-click on the shortcut then hit properties?

Good shout Marc. I'll set that up soon unless any other admins are free to get round to it first.

Just saw Les Miserables. SO GOOD.

(With a few caveats; they made it too god-ish and Enjolras the revolutionary leader was really un-firey and crap. Also the singing was at times sub-par. However, Anne Hathaway was amazing, Russell Crowe is a surprisingly good singer, and whilst Hugh Jackman couldn't quite deal with the most ambitious songs he was generally a very good Valjean. And it's Les Miserables and the most amazing musical ever.)

1. Rome Total War (Very moddable, good graphics/gameplay balance, spent sooooo much time modding it, massive replay value)
2. Mount & Blade (Epic moddability, brilliantly designed combat engine)
3. Age of Mythology (Favourite RTS, definitely a classic of the genre)
4. Civilisation II (My first ever computer game, also still a challenging and interesting strategy title to this day)
5. Adventures of Soros (Not a good game really - just feels rewarding playing a game and thinking "I made this")

Pinned, made a review template, opened it up to commercial games. Anyone fancy writing any reviews?

I don't have a moral objection to multiple Pokemon generations certainly, I just guess it's not the sort of game series I inherently see the appeal of without more depth over time. Also whilst I can never remember which Gen is which, I really felt that the rubbish bin pokemon was stretching it rather.
